A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

  9:38am

  9:38am
annie:

  9:39am
Adrian in London:

Morning/afternoon all.
  9:41am
Bill W:

TODAY is the last day for "Leon Morin, Priest" @ Film Forum.

http://www.filmforum.org/films/priest.html
  9:41am
Manny:

With Le Samourai, Melville perfected the movement. With Weekend, Godard destroyed it. I agree, Melville is often overlooked.
  9:42am
trouble:

there are sketches on the monty python record that i have seen on tv...annie the movie is leon morin, priest by jean pierre melville
  9:43am
trouble:

Hey team! How da ya do?
  9:46am
texas scott:

hello, adrian.what's the weather like in london, today?

howdy,pearly!
  9:46am
John Cleese:

Many of our albums contain sketches that we also performed on our television programme. They are not, however, recordings of the version from the telly. We performed the skits anew in the studio. Cheers.
  9:47am
sugarwolf:

I think they rerecorded some of the sketches for the records?

Gah, I'm discussing Monty Python on the internt.

Pearly Sweets:

Gino!!
  9:52am
Pearly Sweets:

  9:53am
John Cleese:

I stand sheepish and corrected. My memory has failed me in this instance. It must have been the drugs.

  9:54am
Archie Leich:

That's no excuse!

  10:01am
Cecile:

Yeah, wrote a paper on 'em when i was a jr in HS>

That 6org was blazin'.

  10:03am
Cecile:

who is this dan melchior? Every thing i've heard has been awesome.

Also, trouble, did you get your FotC 45 on Record Store Day?
  10:05am

AWWWWWW Emitt!
  10:18am
orzolino:

that emitt rhodes was so elliot smith... damn it, how i miss his music
  10:18am
still b/p:

I put this on a cassette player during a college painting studio class, and a middle aged student asked, "Do you think anyone is enjoying this?"
  10:19am
Cecile:

Ozolino, emmitt suffered from debilitating depression, too. He stopped recording for over 30 years because of it. So, two voices stilled by it.
  10:20am
dc pat:

this started out w/ ol' Pachelbel's chord progression...
  10:20am
George Eliot:

Wonderful music this morning, Trouble, thanks
  10:20am
listener mark:

This is very baroque. I'm sorting in the other room, away from the computer and I thought it was the beginning of Johann Pachelbel: Canon in D
  10:22am
texas scott:

yes, trouble great tunes this am,as always.

i'm mixing it with my buddha box!
  10:22am
trouble:

that is a fabulous question: do you think anyone is enjoying this? i love it...crazy. brian eno does seem to disagree with some peeps.
  10:22am
still b/p:

It is Pachelbel's Canon, looped and kneaded.

..Is there an Oblique Strategies card with the right response for that middle aged student 30 years ago?
  10:23am
trouble:

the buddha box! you are making me jealous. i don't have mine yet...
  10:23am
listener mark:

sorry! dc pat picked it up first
  10:23am
dc pat:

MERDE! Wish I'd won a wfmu buddha box. guess I'm going to have to buy one..
  10:23am
Bad Ronald:

I for one dig the Enossification.
  10:24am
texas scott:

eno-phile here,too!
  10:26am
Cecile:

I gots me a Buddha box
  10:26am
dc pat:

the cool thing about Eno is when he talks--he's got some interesting ideas about music/art
  10:27am
dc pat:

beautiful..
  10:27am
texas scott:

i miss filmstrips...
  10:27am
Doug from DC:

"..Is there an Oblique Strategies card with the right response for that middle aged student 30 years ago? " :

Don't be afraid of things because they're easy to do
  10:27am
listener mark:

I loves the baroque. On snowy days, beside the fire, watching the snowflakes fall. The wind shifts slowly, ever so slowly. The stark contrast between light and shadow blurred by the flakes.Beautiful.
  10:28am
jaypee:

Ooooo.. the buddha box is nifty. A friend of mine wrote an audio app that's kinda similar: http://muddlegeist.com/AADD/AudioADD.html
  10:28am
dc pat:

"Bach and before, Ives and after"
  10:30am

Nice fade-out. Now I'll never know why Jasper Johns included the ruler in his artwork.
  10:30am

FUCKIN A! Thanks holland, I just got sundance because of cable-griping...

What does 'esch' mean?
  10:44am
Cecile:

Hey, I might be able to score one for you, are you interested? The place I went to limited us to just one, but some other hardcore fans might have been able to work something out. I"ll let you know if you're into it.

esch oder anarchie? I don't want to type it all out?
  10:45am
George Eliot:

is flight of the conchords still running?
  10:48am
Cecile:

It just ended. If they're smart, they will not do a 3rd season, it ended so perfectly. Or at least wait several years before doing TV again. They are touring right now.
  10:49am
Cecile:

Good gateway drug, Trouble! Icepack will thank you later!
  10:50am
Georgie Peorgie:

Thanks Cecile, i had no idea. i agree with that about the third season. too much of a good thing, ya know... i've seen some youtube things ..
  10:51am
dc pat:

C: yeah, I know! I'm asking esch oder anarchie.

Wait, I missed that! Who's in chain and the gang? Some one from NoUlysses?
  10:52am
Cecile:

I like the YouTube stuff, but really, seeing the whole thing as a piece makes it all better. And you get the layers and the little in jokes and whatnot.

Sorry, dc pat.

Hell, I'll buy the DVD.
  10:54am
holland oats:

dc pat - ian sveonius

  11:24am
Willie:

I'm a toad again,
Just my fate to be a toad again,
Life I love is makin' toad sounds with my friends..
