  1:07pm
Jason Elbogen:

Comments are reenabled.
Anyone making a comment that doesn't have to do with my show will get cancer.
  1:08pm
Cecile:

I liked that Prince Rama a lot. Hadn't heard that one yet.
  1:10pm
jon:

Nice vibes, Jason. I esp. enjoyed Twins and Rig Veda and Samuel Belay.
  1:14pm
jon:

Oh L. Voag... I know that stuff. It's great.
  1:15pm
Cecile:

where can I find that Shuggie Rodelle?
I remember reading an article on him years ago in OP magazine
  1:15pm
Sean Daily:

I'm sorry, I was busy doing work and being a productive member of society (I know, it's a personality defect). How were people being nasty and calling each other boogerheads?
  1:17pm
Sean Daily:

Did you hear that! Jason is shocked (pause) SHOCKED at your behavior, people. YOU DID THIS TO HIM! HOW CAN YOU LOK AT YOURSELVES IN THE MIRROR!
  1:17pm
Sean Daily:

OR LOOK, EE-VUN!
  1:18pm
Cecile:

yesterday was rough on Joe's show. It was heading that way.
  1:18pm
annie-san:

there is this tiny little baby mouse wandering around the floor, s/he has no idea .. he stops and wipes his little paws.. . just changing the subject, that's all.

  1:22pm
still b/p:

No fear of humans = rabid.
Get out, get out, Annie! Grab the seeds and the coffee cup and flee!
  1:23pm
jon:

Jason: where do you find twins and rig veda recordings? I searched on the web and can't find them.
  1:24pm
Cecile:

Oh, great! Now you can listen to WFMU with your cute pup at your feet. That should be pretty amusing. That is so exciting!
  1:26pm
annie:

start that puppy right, no doubt! and i still have yet to arrive at a name. she can tear up the part of the garden i have dedicated to parq. for his dog/garden enjoyment.
  1:26pm
holland_oats:

i'm likin this track
  1:27pm
Cecile:

nice!
  1:27pm
Jason Elbogen:

Jon-- The Twins and Rig Veda was just a cassette that came out in the 80's. But search for L.Voag/The Homosexuals and you'll find a bunch of other similar stuff that's available...
  1:29pm
That guy called Parq:

Jason, I noticed a lot of new names in the posts for the first hour. You brought out lots of new voices, and good for you. But I guess they all said their pieces and shut up because now it's just what Mad Mag calls the Usual Gang of Idiots (like me).
  1:31pm
dc pat:

right on, GoI!!!
  1:32pm
annie-san:

parq, i putting a bench in the garden just for you. :)
  1:33pm
AnAnoymousParty:

Way to paint us with a broad brush, I'm an imbecile, I'll have you know.
  1:34pm
Cecile:

NO, Parq,

I asked Jason to shut it down because someone called someone else an ass. I dont' know what Jason's ultimate rationale was, but I felt it could get out of hand. just like yesteday. Joe didn't shut the board down cause of the commenters, per se, but it needed doin'.

I know, who died and made me moderator?
  1:34pm
Bad Ronald:

Me cretin.
  1:35pm
Cecile:

Anyway. Now I am going to get cancer. Great.
  1:36pm
G.:

Comment cancer. Comment cancel. Same thing, if you have the right accent :-)
  1:36pm
Pearly Sweets:

Today we mourn the memory of Bad Ronald who has passed away and made Cecile moderator?
  1:37pm
Pearly Sweets:

Sorry. I am lost after lunch and just want to jump right into the foray! That Peter King song made me feel like I was in a 70's flick in which I was the good-to-be-bad hero.
  1:38pm
holland_oats:

so 'brigth' wasn't a typo for 'bright'?
  1:38pm
Bad Ronald:

No, no, no! I said "Me cretin" in response to AnAnoymousParty not "me, cretin" in response to Cecile...
  1:39pm
jon:

thanks Jason
  1:39pm
annieji:

i'm confused.
  1:39pm
Cecile:

Yeah. I figured it out.

Anyway! Where do I find Shuggie Rodelle!

Think about puppies, Annie.
  1:40pm
still b/p:

Cecile has great powers, can blink comments off, lives in bottle, Major Healy hot for her.
  1:40pm
Parq:

Okay, idiots take the melody, cretins do the bass fill and imbeciles take the high, descending harmony. Everybody, now. A-one-two-three . . .
  1:40pm
fishmonkeystew:

lurk lurk lurk.

Hello all! Thanks for the great show, Jason.

More beer!
  1:42pm
AnAnonymousParty:

So what are the morons supposed to do, clap?
  1:42pm
Bad Ronald:

drool.
  1:43pm
Parq:

Clap for the morons, you gon' dig it 'til the day you die.
  1:43pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Ah, what a fine photo we'd make, eh?
  1:44pm
G.:

Did someone mention confusion? Apparently we should all simply sink into it, as into a warm tub. :-)

Great eclectic sound selections, Mr. Elbow :-)
  1:45pm
GP:

Viger, no wait, Veger, OMG it's Voyager
  1:45pm
annie:

hhmmm sinking into a warm tub of butter- noo, i meant confusion..
  1:46pm
Cecile:

Parq, I was going to post that!
  1:47pm
GP:

This is too good not to share:
http://tiny.cc/RockDrugs

YES, it is music related.
  1:48pm
Parq:

If I tried to sink into a warm tub and found it full of butter, I'd be pretty confused.

Jason, finestkind music. All of these comments are about your show in some global, cosmic sense. Truly.
  1:48pm
Sean Daily:

Blue's Clues?
  1:50pm
Pearly Sweets:

That is true, Parq. Kinda like how, even though it is mostly the same people, from show to show the topics/conversations/etc. start fresh. Not just a continuation from the previous show.
  1:53pm
A. Nonymous:

Cecile, maybe I read it wrong, but Joe B.'s anger yesterday seemed to have been prompted by some comments you posted.

ObCancerPrevention: this show is reminding me of Tony Coulter, and I mean that as a compliment.
  1:55pm
Cecile:

I emailed and asked him that very question. He said it wasn't me.
  1:56pm
Cecile:

See you on Irwin's show, guys.
  1:56pm
see ya:

:)
  1:59pm
vc:

holy shucks....i like this track!
  2:00pm
Parq:

I was out for much of the show, but this current off-off-mainstream Americana direction (that's Americana in the old sense, not as in a/k/a alt-country) is engrossing.
  2:00pm
GP:

Man....the whistling portion of this song is amazing....would love to have a sample of that.
  2:04pm
annie:

the feeling i have has been transferred to a deep tub of comfort
  2:05pm
BSI:

I know I'd much rather be in a bad condition, vs. a terrible condition.
  2:10pm
Pearly Sweets:

I'd rather be in an air condition?
  2:12pm
GP:

Any other songs about metalworking come to mind?
  2:12pm
G.:

If you're local to FMU, you will be thinking of a/c when it is 85 degrees every day Saturday to Monday. Or so they predict. Break out the ukelele CDs.
  2:12pm
Pearly Sweets:

Hooray for Foot Village!
  2:12pm
stingy d:

thinking fellers union?
  2:13pm
BSI:

Scratch that.
I'd rather be in a rancid motel room on the outskirts of Foot Village.
  2:13pm
fishmonkeystew:

Boy, it sound like I missed some fireworks yesterday. Fun fun.
  2:13pm
fishmonkeystew:

Here's the missing s.
  2:15pm
Pearly Sweets:

I liked the shitty beatles better. I saw them play with the Jolly Green Giants the other day. It was not just a clever name.
  2:16pm
Pete Best:

That wasn't the Beatles?
  2:18pm
Pete Worst:

More like the Beat To Hells.
  2:19pm
Pete Okay:

I didn't mind it.
  2:19pm
GP:

PW..to you sir:

http://instantrimshot.com/
  2:20pm
PW:

Ta, ducks.
  2:22pm
Parq:

I had thought about commenting as Pete Breast and saying something about the Teatles, but that would be out of line, wouldn't it?
  2:22pm
GP:

I'm out..gotta go do some worjk.
  2:23pm
GP:

worjk = work but not Bjork
  2:23pm
Pearly Sweets:

I also had a breast comment, but felt it would have been out of line.
  2:24pm
Cecile:

Ahhhhh, Harte 10!
I love them. I have this Moers LP by them, the most crazy, charming band.
  2:25pm
Pearly Sweets:

I am really digging this jam. Cecile, we're quoting each other again, damn it all
  2:26pm
Cecile:

yeah. We are joined at the brainstem, I think.
  2:27pm
Pearly Sweets:

Does that mean one of us dies when we get the surgery?
  2:28pm
Cecile:

I hope to hell not. I Iike you, but not that much.
  2:30pm
Pearly Sweets:

The REMOVAL surgery so that we can go and live normal lives where people don't make the same comments at the same time on accuplaylists!
  2:32pm
Cecile:

eh, any point worth making is worth running into the ground.
  2:34pm
G.:

"Any point worth making is worth running into the ground."

I Smell Poster!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2:35pm
Cecile:

nah, is me.
  2:35pm
rob w:

Watertown is indeed just a couple of miles from downtown Boston, Jason. It's a good neighborhood for Armenian food!
  2:40pm
Parq:

I love this song. It takes me back to a bar in the Bronx in which I somehow ended up, where I met and befriended a folky duo that did a great version of it.
  2:41pm
~L:

Get your stuffed grape leaves at ARAX!
  2:42pm
Parq:

It also brings to mind an old (I return to this topic) Mad Mag piece, in which it was turned into a protest song for bad restaurants: "This please got surly waiters, this place -- This place got surly waiters, moldy bread and rancid taters, this place to no one caters, this place."
  2:47pm
~L:

Eliza Dusku was born and raised in Watertown!
  2:47pm

  10:32pm
Maria:

was pleasantly surprised to hear the 45 by Pompeo Stillo. in "accented english"
since I have every single one of his CD's but in his native tongue Italian...
and those are on YouTube. He is an great author too. Thanks for playing the
probably one and only song in English.
  3:05am
Charlie:

I don't know if this will still post in 2012, but what a cool site! I just listened to a recording I played bass on in 1974. I had no idea it was on the Internet! Thanks Jason for this site! What interesting music.
  4:24am
Mike F::

I just saw an album I did in 1974 and saw a post from my Best friend and Bass player on that album, Charlie. He was incredible then, you should hear him now! We're still together all these years later although close to Two Thousand miles apart. Thanks for playing this music, thanks for the site and thank you for "I Would Dream" on Vinyl, just like yesterday in Tucson.
