  9:19am
gumby:

Hey I think I went to High School with those girls on the homepage photo. I bet there boyfreinds wore pocket t-shirts and flannel shirts and wallabees.
  9:20am
Parq:

The FMA looks like a dream come true. I'm actually a little afraid of it. If I go near it, I could be lost for days.
  9:24am
Jason:

Hey Parq, there's no rush, it's not goin away or anything
  9:27am
annie:

parq, i feel your pain, am pretty in awe of it even though i haven't stepped near it. i just started getting used to the search bar on the splash page!
  9:28am
dc pat:

You're right Parq, it's scary as hell--I don't know where to start...
  9:28am

  10:02am
Doug from DC:

The FMA rules. After you played the Dan Marino, I went looking for more DualpLOVER, and found both Volvox and Toxic Lipstick. And yes, Lucas is one of the most intense performers I've ever witnessed.
  10:05am
Cecile:

wow, the best sounding and worst message drug song ever.

makes me, uh, wanna, uh, wanna

holler. yes, that's my final answer.
  10:05am
Parq:

  10:09am
annie:

long ago in a universe far away, back when abc sent out the top 100 lists at the end of the year, i noted that a song called "watch her ride" had made it to the list. it was a drug song, i was pretty sure. when time came for that song to be played in order, they skipped the song!! '66 or '67 ish, boy have times changed! and PMP- word up..
  10:11am
Cecile:

YES, I love those barebones early house tunes.

Do you have "O" by Adonis?
  10:11am
Cecile:

btw, jack ya body.
  10:11am
dc pat:

Jason has power...
  10:13am
Cecile:

so let it be written.
  10:13am
owen:

thank you jason. shall i email you? or will it suffice to say that my log-in name is just "owen"
  10:14am
Cecile:

YES! I BEAR WITNESS TO THE HOUSE!
  10:16am
jaypee:

Oooo.. damn, I love me some early house tracks. Can we next please move over towards late 1980's Detroit, musically?
  10:17am
annie:

cecile, i finally got a whiff of the "flight of the conchords". wow, great show. might have to see if hulu has them..
  10:21am
Cecile:

Maybe. Netflix does.
And the DVD is on sale at Target. It will be an $18.99 well spent.
  10:21am
Cecile:

yes, yes. jaypee.
and maybe some robo-Ibiza dance junk too?
  10:24am
Parq:

Nicky! I'm slightly acquainted with her (as is Annie) -- nice to hear her on the air.
  10:25am
Jason:

sure jaypee, what do you guys like off this Trax 20th anniversary 3CD?
  10:26am
Pearly Sweets:

Stupid Tuesdays with their stupid meetings all day.
  10:27am
Jøe Steele:

e-mail is off and away.
  10:28am
Cecile:

Pearly, you missed the house.
You could not bear witness to the house. I am sad for you.

Is "O" on there, Jason?
  10:30am
Pearly Sweets:

And I see that I missed Smersh, which makes me cry the most.
  10:30am
Cecile:

No way back or Children of the night! would be good!
I looked it up on Amazon.

Why don't I own this?
  10:31am
Pearly Sweets:

I gotta another... 2 hour meeting at Wednesday which means I'll miss the chunk of three chord monte today too! WOE! WOE WOE WOE WOE IS ME!
  10:33am
Pearly Sweets:

Wow... that made no sense. I have a 2 hour meeting at 2, but I hope I don't have any on Weds. I think is what I was thinking....
  10:34am
Pearly Sweets:

or at noon... ugh.. my brain is fried.
  10:34am
john eastridge:

sup dawg
  10:36am
jaypee:

Cecile, right? I'm asking myself the same question. I vote for Acid Trax or This is Acid, 'cause I'm craving a bit of 303 action this morning.
  10:38am
Cecile:

Those would be good, too.
But I love Adonis.

BTW, the Trax set is now on its way to me. I fixed that gaping hole in my collection. Whew!
  10:39am
GP:

Good morning one and all.
  10:41am
Cecile:

YES!
This is the time on Talk is Cheap when we dance!
  10:42am
dc pat:

ich möchte tanzen aber ich habe keinen beinen.
  10:43am
Kelly J.:

Jason...I love how you punish and then reward us. Shake that thang!
  10:44am
dc pat:

wait, which is the punishment and which is the reward??
  10:44am
Parq:

Pearly, I feel your pain. I've got an outside appointment today that is going to preempt at least half of 3CM.
  10:44am
GP:

FMA..oh lordy....IT Police has it unlocked...must.......not.........look.....there.
  10:46am
Jack Y. Body:

THE HOUSE IS THE REWARD. BEAR WITNESS
  10:47am
Cecile:

nice. no pants, whips. ay yi yi.
  10:47am
Pearly Sweets:

On the way to work this morning, before the first meeting, I was jamming to Pink Skull and thinking about putting together a dance mash up album when I get my newish computer later this week. (Also still thinking about that "You Dropped a Sex Bomb On Me" mash up)
  10:48am
Cecile:

you must do it, Pearly.
  10:49am
jaypee:

Oh, dear lord.. I just remembered the FMA.. I now have goosebumps.
  10:49am
Joe:

Wow, thanks, Jason--I've had this Shriekback song in my head for days!
  10:49am
Monty Python Gumby:

ho, yus!
  10:50am
Pearly Sweets:

When it all comes down and I finish it. I'll burn a copy for you, Cecile. That's if I have any brain cells left by the end of this week.
  10:51am
Cecile:

thanks, dude!
  10:53am
dc pat:

you know what I've had in my head for about 24 hours? that tune Ben Walker played yesterday, a Story from North America...I don't know why..
  10:54am
Pearly Sweets:

Because it was sooo good, dc pat. That's why!
  10:54am
Glenn L:

Thanks, Jason.
Can't wait to hear the archive.
  10:58am
Jøe Steele:

Holy crap dc pat, me too.
  11:00am
Sean Daily:

Not even close to first comment! Woo hoo!
  11:01am
Cecile:

Melle Mel just sounded too happy.
That was because he was coked out of his gills when he recorded the song.
True story.
  11:05am
dc pat:

Jøe: showed my wife the animation for it and half way through, she looked at me and then switched on the tv. I think it's one of those either you get it or not deals...
  11:06am
BillyJam:

great show Jason......and love all the FMA material!
  11:07am
Carmichael:

Dammit, I missed Daniel Johnston and People Like Us. I blame myself ...

Good morning, Jason and usual suspects.

PMP, are little birdies flying around your head in blissful happiness???

DC Pat, do you now have a hole-free home?
  11:07am
Cecile:

hey, Billy, looking forward to the Jinx show friday!
  11:09am
jaypee:

Damn, Jason, your music selection is really doing me right.
  11:09am
Cecile:

he is on fire
  11:10am
Jason:

Thanks billy! SUp Eastridge?? Carmichael you can download those tracks!
  11:12am
Cecile:

Golem says that he just wants to do something special for all the ladies of the world.
  11:12am
Carmichael:

Yes sir. I'm trying to figure out how. I'm just a simple caveman. I know not of your FaceBook, your in-dashboard iPod connections, or your cherry cola drinks.
  11:12am
Doug from DC:

You should do a set with Golem!, Talibam! and Malaria! to cover all of the exclamation points.
  11:13am
lisa:

wow - that la moda song was gorgeous. thank you
  11:13am
Cecile:

and !!!
  11:14am
GP:

Don't forget "The GO! Team"
  11:14am
Carmichael:

and And! and
  11:16am
owen:

i like golem a lot. i think i will spend this week's food money on their new album and live off toast. (but do they definitely have an exclamation point? i'm dubious.)
  11:18am
Ike:

If you bake your own bread, then you can save even more money to spend on music.
  11:19am
Doug from DC:

And Hyaa!, if you wanna go back in DC history.
  11:20am
Cecile:

Rip, Rig and Panic! had an exclamation point, too, didn't they?
  11:22am
owen:

good point ike. might as well make the most of my unemployment and learn to do some new things.
  11:23am
George Michael:

WHAM!

Never forget
  11:23am
dc pat:

baking bread is highly rewarding. I'll bet annie does a lot o fthat.
  11:25am
Ike:

Plus it tastes better than store-bought. I use a bread machine, but you don't really need one -- Google "no-knead bread".
  11:25am
annie:

baking is wonderful.
  11:26am
Cecile:

No-knead bread is awesome.
you can make homemade noodles pretty easy, too.
  11:27am
dc pat:

never used a machine. all you have to do is knead for 7-10 minutes then let it sit around all day...you need to knead...
  11:27am
Parq:

You can always tell the people who are really clueless about cooking, by looking for the people going up to the supermarket manager to ask which aisle the toast is in.
  11:27am
Pearly Sweets:

Gospel Store Front is a pretty great album. It sounds like they listened to alot of renaldo and the loaf and the fall and then decided to record an album.
  11:28am
LOL CAT #2:

I'm in ur breds needin your do
  11:29am
GP:

Parq..that was a good one.
  11:31am
Parq:

GP, that was from Jimmie "JJ" Walker's stand-up act. See, I really don't only steal from the best . . .
  11:32am
Carmichael:

OK. Me figure out how to download. Me like.
  11:32am
jaypee:

Cecile, homemade noodles are the awesome. Super filling and delicious.
  11:33am
Cecile:

and you don't need a pasta machine, and they don't have to look perfect.
  11:34am
Carmichael:

Hey, we're talking about food. Where's Stingy?!?!
  11:34am
GP:

JJ Walker..man, there is a balst from the past.
  11:35am
dc pat:

dang Cecile, took me a little while to realize I didn't need a pasta machine. The key to most cooking is to throw perfection out the window.
  11:35am
annie:

i'm here, just having puter issues..
  11:35am
Carmichael:

The talkover music should be on the Exorcist.
  11:36am
Cecile:

I need to make them more. I like to cook, but the whole baking/flour deal still makes me twttchy and nervous.
  11:37am
GP:

balst = blast....but I think I just invented a new word.
  11:38am
owen:

i'm a definite fan of making pasta.

and jason, i only asked about golem! (i cede to your wisdom) as it doesnt include the exclamation point on the JDub website, or a previous album i have of theirs. evidently this new album represents a new, highly exclamatory direction for the band.
  11:39am
Pearly D:

As ze chef her', I'mma dedicate-a-dis next-a-meal to not staying in any sort of dialect. Oh bother.
  11:40am
jason:

owen i'm glad you asked, this album has a pic of someone wearing a golem t-shirt that doesnt have an exclamation point, so i think it's still open to debate
  11:43am
GP:

Their next album wil be even better: ¡ Golem !
  11:44am
Sean Daily:

OH MY GOD! That man's raping that poor saxophone!
  11:46am
Pearly Sweets:

Sean, in college I took a jazz class and I remember talking to the professor and telling him I enjoyed Anthony Braxton, Zorn, Vandermark, and Brotzmann for horn players and he looked me dead in the eyes and said "they play like they are fucking a goose"
  11:47am
Jason:

Sean that is a good description...he did a similar a capella thing that nite
  11:57am
Carmichael:

A capella, as in "no sax"? A sax-less sax solo?

Man, where do you find these people?!?
