JoeSteele:

First?

Yowza, what a start.
  3:10pm
JoeSteele:

I can't do math fast enough.
  3:19pm
Parq:

Every Thursday, it seems, someone walks into my office at around 3. Invariably, each of them strikes a puzzled look and says, "That sounds kind of like the Rocky and Bulwinkle theme!" Yes, you pop culture whiz, I mentally respond, whaddaya want.

Shoutout for the mention of P. "Paul's Not Home" Kavanaugh.
  3:21pm
Morbid:

PAULLLLLl!!!!!!
  3:30pm
Glenn L:

Hi Diane! Hi Wm!

MORE LOUD GIRL BELCHING PLEASE!!!
  3:33pm
Parq:

Then Robt Klein went to another city, and found another bum screaming "Pleasssse" in the exact same way. It was a franchise.
  3:34pm
north guinea hills:

do we have to dignify satellite radio by acknowledging it??????
  3:35pm
Laurie:

I agree, WFMU is exactly like Werner Herzog movies. It's not like Gaspar Noé movies, right? Except, you know, when Kenny G and Irwin get together? It's a little Chuck & Buck!
  3:35pm
Jeff M:

The only truly good, genuinely freeform thing I know of on satellite radio is good ol' Vin Scelsa's show. But he's an exception to the otherwise-universal rule.
  3:37pm
The Man:

I hate exceptions to my rules.
  3:40pm
stingy d:

hey pledge our moneys you funnies. it was fun volunteering. hope everyone is doing well. give dem da moneys. maxwell's sunday? anyone?
  3:42pm
Parq:

D, I'll be there. I'll be the pudgy balding guy with glasses.
  3:45pm
Jeff M:

To bring it back to the main topic: of COURSE Scelsa's good, he started at WFMU. In 1968 or so. So he's one of the ones who started with and started WFMU. During last year's 50th Anniversary festivities, someone (Ken?) played some old airchecks of his, and Jones 'n' X-Ray interviewed him.
  3:45pm
JoeSteele:

If I make it back from Philly in time.
  3:47pm
Jeff M:

Yeah, right, Parq. Way to cause confusion. You just described ME.
  3:47pm
Cecile:

yay Rob and Katie!
  3:48pm
stingy d:

i'll try to wear my stingy shirt again, that way it's simple. i'm approachable, if awkward. i just struggle with inventing the small talk.
  3:50pm
Rory:

  4:03pm
Evan:

Al Jarreau actually turns 69 today. Wm. was DEAD ON!
  4:04pm
Bas, NL:

Je bent GEWELDIG Diane; you are GREAT!!!
  4:08pm
Glenn L:

Last week I heard Wendy del Formaggio say she'd be willing to belch, but it's not really an on demand talent.

If she'd belch on air, loudly, during this shift,
I'd double my pledge & then bump it up to a
Mouse Pledge.
  4:10pm
Rory:

The Hippies are back and they're Punks!
  4:14pm
Budgie:

Where's my present, Jerk?
