The Robyn gig was quite all right. He had brought along John Paul Jones and in the audience there was an assortment of Fairports (who were also gigging in town). So, in the middle of the gig, up steps Dave Pegg and takes over the bass on a couple of songs. Fine contingent of senior British gentlemen there. A nice time was had by all!

I've just "won" two Syliphone 70s albums on THAT auction site. There is something with that sound that came out of Guinea - a mix of vernacular traditions and latin and jazz - in my view among the best from Africa in the 70s or at any time for that matter ...

Only caught a few minutes this morning around 9:00 - loved the dub & jazz, will make it a point to tune in on Fridays driving to work. Website was easy to see music played, even talkover - thanks!!! it makes a huge difference to someone who catches great tunes without paper and pencil. There is nothing more aggravating then to hear a great song and lose it in the well of ignorance. A few sting my heart even now....
