Ken, I had to look twice to be sure those aren't priestly vestments in the picture. Note that something just below the strap seems to be forming a cross. Okay, maybe I need more coffee . . .

Ghengis Jung:

9:04am
john from oslo:
Hi Ken! According to the nice photo of you - you just survived the Empire of the DEAD!
9:04am
Ken:
How was Vicki's show last week? I only heard the last 15 minutes.
9:06am
LT:
She did you proud, Ken.
9:06am
Parq:
Superb. I had a day from hell last week, and DODIY was the only bright spot in it.
9:07am
john from oslo:
Vicki's show was flawless, excellent and interesting
9:07am
Lizardner Dave:
Vicki was great!
9:08am
jan:
receiving your signal loud and clear. As always, a stimulating broadcast.
9:09am
jack cronin:
i like this song a whole lot
9:09am
bzul:
Vicki's playlist looked fun. Was a bad connection day -- must go archive diving for some of that show later.
Parq: Cross-eyed?
If you see nail wounds where there ain't any...you've got a-stigmata-ism
9:15am
Negator:
Hey, Ken! Sorry I'm late. My practice space caught on fire this morning. Our stuff is OK but I know the dude whos space the fire started in. It better not be arson. Good to have you back. Do you think Glass Candy does drugs?
9:17am
Parq:
Ken, got time to tell us what you had for dinner on Thanksgiving Day?
9:20am
Ken:
Sorry to hear about the fire, Negator! Parq - I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. Such is life for the millions of DJs who suffer from Food Anxiety. Stop asking such difficult questions.
9:22am
Mooose:
What a perfect show so far! So good to hear it.
9:22am
john from oslo:
Tell us about Paris please, Ken.
9:22am
Parq:
I sorry. The Glass Candy pic is swell, btw.
9:27am
annie:
i love the gargoyle. and who's that dude in the doorway? ;) hope you brought alot of music back.
9:27am
Negator:
Yeah, alot of bands practice there at the space that caught fire. They've played on FMU. The Loners, Double Negative (which should play on WFMU), The Rosebuds, Urge Overkill, even Flock of Seagulls for a few weeks. Cherry Valence now Birds of Avalon. Cool place it is. It was a small fire I think everything is peachy.
9:30am
Mooose:
Glass Candy is from the west coast.
9:30am
Mark:
You sound weird
9:31am
Lizardner Dave:
You sound exactly the same after the dump.
9:31am
Torbjørn:
Not very weird, but I though I heard a bit stretching there .. is this the dump button with the multiple buffers ?
9:31am
dc pat:
Hi folks. hey why does Ken sound weird?
9:31am
Negator:
Glass Candy was on the V.A. Italians Do it Better comp that came out last year. I'm not sure I've seen a record by them but that double album set is really awesome. I bought it on vinyl a while back. Chromatics is also on there. I do believe they are Italian.
9:32am
cribley:
you always sound time stretched after dumping. just tiny spaces so the buffer can catch up.
9:33am
Negator:
Go with Mooose on Glass Candy being West coast but the comp I mentioned is awesome.
9:33am
dc pat:
Waitaminnit, Chromatics are from the west coast...or is that a different one? They aren't together anymore.
9:33am
fred:
Hey Ken, Bimbo Tower does rule!
For those in Paris next week, there is a week long festival called Sonic Protest these guys are heavily involved in.
If you want to include a (very old) picture of them in your playlist, look here: http://www.instantschavires.com/2008/07juillet/pix/bimboweb.jpg
9:34am
Swami:
I detected Ken's French accent after that "dumping."
9:34am
cribley:
this song makes me want delicious cake for some reason.
9:36am
Mark:
I always want delicious cake
9:38am
Ken:
Fred, I can't believe I missed Sonic Protest by one week!
Didnt go to the Bastille... went to the catacombs though, which were way cool. As were the gargoyles at Notre Dame.
9:47am
fred:
You should check with them next time you plan a trip over here then. Here's the deal: http://www.sonicprotest.com/
Some gigs will be probably recorded and archived over here http://www.radiowne.org/
9:47am
Lizardner Dave:
So that means no "Bastille Day" by Rush, I'm guessing. Oh well.
9:48am
GP:
Quintron gots me movin..thyanyks Ken
9:51am
Laurie:
I saw Quintron last Saturday. SOOOOOO much fun. I approve of puppet shows.
9:52am
Ken:
It looks like Quintron and his puppets may perform at the WFMU show at SxSW next March. Unconfirmed!
9:54am
dc pat:
nothing wrong w/ this 39 Clocks
9:57am
Negator:
Spherical Objects sound like The Stranglers. THey sound splendid!
9:59am

What are you using for a music bed for your Mic breaks?
10:08am
stingy d:

10:08am
Ghengis Jung:
This is getting kind of Allman Brothers-ish...
10:09am
stingy d:
the good cause is not music. nthing against that sort of stuff. but its not the good cause. the good cause is nycares.org
10:09am
athur t flegenheimer:
yo - where's that DJ Donna Summer mix?? Cannae find it meself....greets from Scotchland btw - great show
10:10am
stingy d:
also - i love this song "in the waking" and now i'll pipe down.
10:10am
dc pat:
said it before, I'll say it again "I like when Vicki and Ergo sing."
10:11am
Ken:
Jake - that background music is Haruomo Hosono's Nostalgia of Island. But my new Dell laptop has a soundcard that sounds like shit and it's driving me crazy! And Traktor Pro is also totally screwed up.
10:11am
Ken:
Is that Vicki and Ergo singing?
10:12am
GP:
Dang Stingy...I wish I lived closer..man, I would love to see that show recorded somehow.
10:12am
dc pat:
I guess, I'm just assuming...you're suppose to tell ME that.
10:12am
trish:
Salut Ken- hope you had a nice break away. Vicki and Do or DIY were excellent in this morning time slot, last week!
10:12am
Negator:
Vicki........ahhhhhhhh! I really enjoyed her show last week. I listened to it again....sigh....silly.
10:14am
trish:
and your soundcard really does sound like shit, Ken.
10:14am
Cecile:
Ken! Good to have you back, and Vicki was a wonderful fill-in.
10:14am
stingy d:
i'm sure it will be recorded in some fashion gp - i'll keep you posted.. i'm definteiyl going. also i think there is some vague notiong that i have to do somehing at it
10:15am
-max-:
Good morning, all. Welcome back Ken.
Cannot make it out to the 7SD show in Hoboken tonight, sorry. Went to the last one, and witnessed the craziness up close. I'd highly recommend it to all local listeners.
10:16am
GP:
Cool,,,,,have fun, maybe they will have you reading the comments list again!
10:17am
GP:
What is that jumping chic wearing?
10:18am
stingy d:
is this : http://tinyurl.com/HEY-KEN
that?!
10:19am
Ken:
Yep Stingy, that's it. Trish, thanks for the confirmation. Glad I'm not losing my mind or my hearing. Dell laptops suck!!!
10:23am
Doug in DC:
You got a Dell? Hopefully the station will pay for repairs once the warranty runs out.
10:25am
Cecile:
do you have Ian Oliver's or DJ Shantel's Bukovina rattling around there?
10:26am
Ken:
I have Bukovina but not with me.
10:29am
Cecile:
aw, geez. This fits the bill, tho.
10:31am
Cecile:
I knew you would know it because you are KEN!
10:31am
Parq:
Yeh, Ken, good luck with the Dell. GP the dancing chic is wearing something chic.
10:33am
Cecile:
ok, how about some great cheezy 80s disco like Skyy or the Gap Band?
10:33am
Carmichael:
Good morning Kenneth and friends. My experience with a Dell desktop was far less than satisfying. I now own a Compaq Presario and have had no problems yet, unless you count Vista.
10:34am
Cecile:
Oh, you mean "Mojave"?
10:34am
tim:
Glass Candy, oohlala.
10:35am
Ken:
I would've just replaced my Lenovo thinkpad but the new ones dont have stereo line input. So now I will need top buy an external USB soundcard for my Dell.
10:35am
Carmichael:
Yeah, that's it. It seems to have been programmed by junkies, to teach us some kind of lesson.
10:35am
GP:
or...Cameo.....Word Up, anyone?
10:36am
Laurie:
I hope Bill Gates paid the Ruby Suns a shit-ton of money for the use of their song.
10:37am
Carmichael:
Remember a band called Foxy?
10:37am
GP:
Ken,
Have the station buy you a Fujitsu...awesome build quality and first rate tech support.
10:38am
Cecile:
YES. GET OFF!
That song is so twisted. About 3 ways and dope. Steely Dan lyrical content but with a better groove.
10:39am
Cecile:
I have the 12" I got at the Salvation Army.
10:41am
Carmichael:
I have found so much castaway music at the Salvation Army and Goodwill, which happens to be next to a used CD store in my neighborhood. I'll spend an afternoon diving through the piles.
10:43am
Cecile:
I know. One day, a friend of mind found a mint Dream Warriors disc with no cover, and i found a choice copy of Fool for the City. It is a fine place to search.
10:44am
Laurie:
I think we need to hear the "fever" and "magic" ones again, please.
10:45am
Carmichael:
Any song with a thump beat and an "Uh!" steals my musical heart.
10:47am
bzul:
I'm gonna look at Goodwill for more 40-50 year old Xmas records and use them as my only holiday decorations. If I had a tree, I'd hope to find Les Rita Mitsouko under it...live...for 12 days.
10:47am
stingy d:
i used to on the corner of carlton st. and park ave.
10:48am
ahem:
live
10:49am
vicki's mun:
Yes, it IS Vicki and Ergo singing..great, isn't it?
10:49am
Carmichael:
OMG, you can't beat the Jim Nabors Xmas album for sheer shock value. I don't know how someone with such a good voice can destroy song after seasonal song, but he sure pulls it off.
10:50am
dc pat:
Thanks Vicki, THAT's what I thought. So, ...what I said.
10:53am
Lizardner Dave:
Funny coincidence. I bought a new winter coat in Montreal a few weeks ago and the difference between the Canadian and US dollar enabled me to shoot the station a little somethin'.
10:55am
Cecile:
dude, Jean Michel Jarre lives...
10:57am
tim:
KEN: TraktorPro desperately wants you to buy the higher-end thing with its own hardware. Dell, of course, wants to to buy Dell stock. According to my melt-down-o-meter, Dell's pat of butter is just in the center of the 2008-09 skillet. No return option?
10:58am
Carmichael:
Sounds like Oxygene by the Trans Siberian Orchestra.
11:00am
Carmichael:
BTW Ken, I love that pic of Spock jamming with one of those Eden searchers!
"Ah, aaaaahhh, bitter dregs ..."
11:03am
Doug in DC:
Herbert! Herbert! Herbert! Herbert!
11:07am
Carmichael:
(Making the "o" sign with both hands): "Are you one, brother?"
11:10am
fishmonkeystew:
Good morning all!!
11:10am
Parq:
I reach botany. It is my favorite of studies.
11:13am
Carmichael:
The actor who played Adam in that episode went on to almost do a gig at Bob's Country Bunker.
11:13am
Ken:
Why is it always this time of the show when I can't make head or tail out of what is being discussed here?
11:14am
Cecile:
Star Trek episode references. I haven't seen it in 20 years, so I'm guessing.
11:15am
Cecile:
WOW, that is intense hearing Final Solution sung in German. WOW.
11:15am
Ken:
Oh Christ. I knew I was going to regret posting that pic of Spock.
11:16am
Carmichael:
Oh yeah, baby. Best episode EVER!
11:17am
LT:
Holy crap, this is a good cover.
11:17am
Lizardner Dave:
What is Larry doing for Krampus Christmas?
11:17am
Rob:
Is that Bob Hund thing a cover of final solution or an appropriation?
11:17am
The Log Lady:
I agree with Cecile; this version of Final Solution is totally WOW.
Thanks, Ken, for "doing it" this week. Thought I was going to have to nudge you.
11:23am
stingy d:
does your log know anythign about that mike tyson documentary that was supposed to be out already?
11:25am
Ken:
Does your log know anything about the tATu movie, "You and I?" Will I ever get to see it? Is it not even straight to video?
11:26am
stingy d:
i think we have to ask it ken.
11:35am
GP:
Just checking back in.T hat FCC skeletor photo...dang Ken..please give us a unicorn chaser photo or something.
11:36am
Denise in Washington, DC:
Morning all! Who is that scary alien-looking female-oid in the picture?
11:38am
Ken:
Sorry, didn't mean to scare everybody with the photos... the FCC image illustrated a news story about the FCC's plan to institute porn-free national Wifi. The little girls is a photoshopped child beauty queen.
11:41am
Bad Ronald:
Morning one and all! Late to the show. Welcome back Ken. Vicki rocked last week!
Porn-free Wifi, what's the use? Just like near beer...
11:43am
-max-:
Shades of JonBenét Ramsey, eh?
11:43am

While I can't help but love the FCC photo, the beauty child mutant scares the livin beejeezus outta me. eek!

11:55am
Denise in Washington, DC:
Ken, I love the Bran Flakes, but please tell us who the Whistling Nazis were.
11:57am
Bad Ronald:
Cool, thanks Stingy.
I'm having some trouble with comprehension this AM!
11:57am
Ken:
The whistling Nazis were the Luftwaffenmusikkorps 4, conducted by Major Kurt Ringelman
11:57am
Bas, NL:
Great show Ken! The Netherlands tuned in!
Best wishes,

11:57am

Thanks Ken. Another great show. Cheers!

Is it springtime for Hitler already?
11:58am

See you all next week! Say hello if anybody is at Maxwells tonight or Printed Matter on Saturday.
11:58am

Speaking of Nazis, did anyone hear the vocal chord experiments on Kenny G's show last week?
11:59am
Ken:
Kenny and I are going to discuss comments in a moment...
11:59am
LIzardner Dave:
