  3:10pm
Sean Daily:

Third comment! Woo hoo!
  3:17pm
CamelCaseForYourFace:

The son sounds a bit like Walken. Or someone doing someone doing Walken.
  3:19pm
ZzippyD:

Thank You for the Judson, Irwin. My day is now complete.

  3:51pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Hey! Put 60's/70s TV theme show music in a blender and get ... The SG Sound.
  3:52pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

if you don't add the Brubeck it won't come out right
  3:54pm
Ike:

Thanks for talking me down from my pre-election madness, Irwin. Or trying to. <foams at mouth> WE'RE COMING FOR YOU, ES&S AND DIEBOLD! GET THE EFFIGIES! <ahem> Sorry, I just blacked out for a moment there.
  3:56pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Yes, but you have to be careful, a little Brubeck goes a long way ...
  4:03pm
GP:

Yes, indeed...a bit like Marmite, or for those blokes in the southern hemisphere, Vegemite.
  4:05pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Hmm ... Vegemite. Mix it with my natto.
  4:11pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

your what now?
  4:13pm
GP:

DCE,
Natto= Fermented soy beans in can or something...looks like black mold....
  4:15pm
Sean Daily:

GP: "Looks like black mold". Yum.
  4:15pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

gawd that sounds tempting. black mold and whatever vegemite actually is, put that on some pita bread or something with bamboo shoots.
  4:15pm
GP:

Yikes..Raggy.....Roasts!!
  4:15pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Natto: Smells like Satan's feet, produces stringy snotty stringy mucousy stuff when stirred. Challenging to eat for many reasons. (Shivers) Ugh.
  4:18pm
Parq:

Speaking of 60s TV themes, has anybody seen this? Star Wars vs Saul Bass.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yoIEWpl9oc
  4:18pm
AnAnonymousPary:

I think Vegemite is a fermented yeast paste. Kinda like Miso, only Miso is fermented soy.
  4:19pm
bzul:

Guess who's comin' to dinner...Natto Dreadlunch.
  4:19pm
?:

DCE: According to Wikipedia (so you know it's wrong):

Vegemite (IPA: /ˈvɛdʒɨmaɪt/) is a dark brown food paste made from yeast extract, used mainly as a spread on sandwiches, toast and cracker biscuits, as well as a filling of pastries like Cheesymite scroll, in Australia and New Zealand. It is similar to British and New Zealand Marmite and to Swiss Cenovis.

Black mold on yeast. Like I said: Yum.
  4:20pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm looking for a fermented lover.
  4:20pm
Sean Daily:

bzul: Wasn't "Natto Dreadlunch" one of the aliens in the cantina scene in "Star Wars"?
  4:21pm
GP:

AAp,
There is some website (of course there is) where this, ahem, gentleman, actually tries out all of those crazy foods like Natto, etc...and posts a review if he is able to survive the encounter....I'll try to find it.
  4:22pm
bzul:

...in a galaxy rastafari-fari away, mon.
  4:23pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Oh, I've tried them all myself ... while you're looking, take a peek at Durian fruit.
  4:24pm
GP:

Actually.............very long pause....Marmite is quite good on vanilla ice cream...gives it a taste like pistacio....I guess it would just be tons simpler to just put some dang pistacios in your ice cream...but where is the fun in that?
  4:25pm
GP:

Curtis!...Thanks Irwin.
  4:26pm
Ike:

AAP, I like durian. The smell isn't that bad, and it doesn't taste anything like it smells. It just smells a little overripe. The flavor is mild. The texture is wonderful, custardy and creamy. I love the sci-fi look of the outer shell, too.
  4:34pm
Cecile:

that Julie London Calendar Girl album was a big part of our growing up. Not so much the music, but more the cover: "Look, the nurse from Emergency when she was way young!"
  4:34pm
AnAnonymousParty:

I think it may vary from variety or by person, maybe the ones I had were particularly 'overripe' ... but you can't deny people either love it or hate it. Good once you get past the aroma. But then I've experienced cheeses that could kick Durian's ass.
  4:36pm
Sean Daily:

Of course WFMU has a lab. His name is Booger, he's three years old and he really likes his squeaky frog.
  4:42pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

this has that hollow muddy sound of an old 8 track
  4:42pm
GP:

Here is the crazy foo dwebsite....What was thought was black mold was actually slime...although ai notice on this page that there is a corn product that has an "edible" black fungus on it. http://www.thesneeze.com/mt-archives/cat_steve_dont_eat_it.php
  4:43pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

aw crap
  4:43pm
Barney:

I was peer-pressured into eating a natto omelette and it was a lot tastier than I expected, though it took a few drinks to get my courage up.
  4:45pm
Sean Daily:

Yes, "High Maintenance Woman". The country-western anthem of creepy stalker weirdos everywhere.
  4:47pm
bzul:

Cats for Jesus drinking from a saucer, Big Dog Daddy, The Puppies...a pet set!
  4:48pm
Ike:

Country-western? More like country-plastic. As always, it's so over-over-over-overproduced! That Johnny Cash song that Ken played this morning, even though a remix, now that was real country. Yeah, I know, it goes without saying.
  4:48pm
Kyle:

My iTunes still says "from String Quartet No. 9 (1988) by Ben Johnston on WFMU on Kenny G's show
  4:50pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

maybe your batteries are weak
  4:50pm
Laurie:

Yeah, I'm no Toby Keith fan, but at least he's voting for Obama, right? He said that Obama is the best candidate his party has had since Clinton. Then again, he also said Obama "acts Caucasian" or some crazy shit like that, so...
  4:51pm
AnAnonymousParty:

Everybody who lives out here in America's rural midwest corn growin' country knows what Corn Smut is!

Fresh = good, canned = Just Plain Wrong.

Course, this time of the year we're all out looking for Hen-of-the-Woods.
  4:51pm
Sean Daily:

Ike: Got to agree with you there...
  4:53pm
bzul:

Well... we had a pet dead man once, but my folks wouldn't let us bring an electric freak home and feed it.
  4:53pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

we sure are getting a lesson in gross-out cuisine today.
  4:54pm
Sean Daily:

Corn smut = Porn from the Midewst?
  4:54pm
GP:

Bzul....they REALLY don't like water.
  4:54pm
Sean Daily:

Or Midwest, ee-vun?
  4:54pm
Parq:

Allow me to cast a vote in favor of any and all kickin' modern country on this show.
  4:56pm
Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm looking for a fermented corn smut porn slut lover.
  4:57pm
Laurie:

  5:03pm

"He insists . . . he says . . . " Are you implying that you doubt the veracity of these statements?
  5:07pm
AnAnonymousParty:

I don't have a problem with Toby Keith music, and his shows are good too if you enjoy really long Ford commercials.
  5:10pm
Parq:

Next time, Shaina Twain. Bwaah-ha-ha!
  5:11pm

  5:21pm
Laurie:

This Minisnap song is fabulous.
  5:23pm
Parq:

Hadn't heard Cruella De Ville apart from that one about the two rotten kids. Pretty neet!
  5:38pm
Sean Daily:

Hey! I think there's some slight sexual double entendre in this Duke of Iron song!

Mind, I'm not complaining. I'm just saying...
  5:39pm
Irwin:

Sean - ya think?
  5:40pm
Fred:

"You need feet" was a pisstake of "You Need Hands" by Max Bygraves. And i never heard it before. Good choice!
  5:40pm

codger and fountain - recorded live at wfmu, 10/30/1995, engineered by irene trudel -- on the new judson fountain cd.
  5:58pm
John:

Ay, yi, yi...I'd rather have a colonoscopy without Demerolâ„¢ than listen to these morons.
  6:00pm
Parq:

Good lord, do you realize there's no Wikipedia page for Don Brockway? How is such an injustice possible?
  10:24pm
Steve Barton:

I (Heart) Mekons, sure...but I Truly (Heart) Irwin's Star Country turn. And Bach coming up soon! Radio Magic. -- Steve (listening crabwise and slow)
