  9:45am
~L:

Hi Jason,
Nice tunes for fighting the gloomy rain. Yet,
I'm glad we've only got rain, I am not ready for snow.
  9:46am
Raf:

Mattress! Great!
  9:58am
ian wilmoth:

where can i get a copy of that sneakers record? that song, ruby, just blew my mind. i was just writing a letter to an old friend of mine named ruby and all the lyrics were in synch with my thoughts. fuckin cosmic. so i was acutually paying attention when the set list was announced, waiting for that first song.

when the DJ said "Ruby" i almost passed out, for real. what the helllll. i need a copy.
  10:00am
ian wilmoth:

of course, this kind of thing happens almost every day. thats why i love fmu.
  10:04am
dc pat:

you're right ian, I wake up a lot thinking about a group or song and then some one will play it on fmu.
  10:10am
annie:

it's akin to quaker meeting; sitting for an hour and the collective consciousness takes over. one stands to speak and they speak the thoughts of all who have been thinking the same thing.. i love it..
  10:10am
ian wilmoth:

i just found that sneakers record in CD reissue for sale online. the track listing is the story of my life, if you read all the song titles as a narrative. weird man. i guess i gotta buy it.
  10:11am
Tony:

On rainy dayz I sit back and count ways on
how to get rich son, show and prove, ask my blitz
  10:14am
Jason:

WHoa Ian that is some crazy psychic event! That song was recommended to me by DJ Bob Brainen because of the lyrics "Talk Is Cheap". I think the original releases from the late 70s are very hard to find, but there was another CD released in 2006 that also has Ruby on it
  10:16am
Jason:

forgot to mention on air that Sneakers = Chris Stamey (dbs) and Mitch Easter (Let's Active, REM producer). The 2006 CD is called Nonsequitor of SIlence. I was looking at it at the record fair all weekend, with no luck, although DJ Michael Goodstein assured me it is easy to find
  10:23am
ian wilmoth:

i jus found the CD re issue on ebay for $5. score!

i hope the song being track 13 is not a bad omen. i dont beleive in this stuff but it reaches a point, you gotta wonder.
  10:24am
mark scotney:

dB's stuff good play soul kiss you bastard
  10:30am
?:

play David Virgin's "excesma Queen"
  10:34am
Sister Hairy Hymen:

  10:52am
david virgin:

  11:20am
Jamie @ CULT. UK:

Please tell me who Dr Fuck Yeah is.
  11:22am
Jason:

Dr Fuck Yeah is members of SNake Apartment and Nuclear Power Pants from Providence RI, They have a debut record coming out on Corleone Records, same label as Lazy Magnet who played live on today's show
  11:24am
Jamie @ CULT. UK:

Thanks
  11:33am
Raf:

That new Pierre Bastien sounds really nice.
  11:34am
m:

could you play some tetuzi akiyama maybe?
  11:42am
Ike:

Tony Coulter fills in for Brian today! Hooray! Best news I've heard since Ted "A Series of Tubes" Stevens got convicted!
  11:44am
radio on:

high plaaces, geez that chick can't sing worth a..... but just because they are "trust fund adults" based out of brooklyn, morons think they are good. those were the same people who flipped out over that joanne newsome junk.
  11:45am
Rico:

NYC area bands are so overrated. Bands that are not in NYC or LA definitely don't get the easy hype.
  11:45am
Jason:

right on radio on! interesting theory
  11:49am
Cecile:

Certain regions seem to "bring it"in my book.
Like Texas garage punk, or the spiky, squonky Ohio punk bands.
  11:49am
Cecile:

Texas hardcore punk was a beautiful thing as well.
  11:51am
Cecile:

LOL - Jackie Onassis has to be the Olsen Twins' theme song.
  11:51am
Parq:

Whoa -- "the Humans" as we used to call them. I was living in Boston during their initial heyday and was one of many people who predicted - wrongly - that they would break out as big as the Cars had. Ah well. I hope they're all doing okay.
  11:52am
Raf:

Can you talk about the Davey Day stuff in the mic break?
  11:53am
radio on:

jason, I always wanted to know, does WFMU "encourage" you to play bands that are on Thrill Jockey, Drag City, or those other semi-corporate "indie labels". Or how about those real corporate labels like DFA and Mute that still hide under some faux-indie tag? Any modern form of payola?
  11:55am
Cecile:

wow, this sounds very Minutemeny
  11:59am
Cecile:

what label is that Davey Day deal on, Jason?
  11:59am
Ike:

When you use this background music, I reflexively expect to hear DJ Fabio talking. It's like a muscle spasm.

Radio On, that's definitely not FMU style. Some people just genuinely like those bands.
  12:00pm
Bad Ronald:

Great show Jason - thanks!
  4:16pm
Zack:

I could get you the actual mixes of the Cacaw tape. It's much better than the rough mixes no one was meant to hear.
