||||||||||
Gunsmoke | The Ladykiller | Originally broadcast May 14, 1961 | (no label) |
A femme fatale is hired to kill off all the witnesses at a trial. She bumps off one of them - and then comes gunning for the Marshall.
One of Gunsmoke's last episodes: the series went off the air June 18, 1961. I know I've said it before: see beyond the Far West setting of the series. Gunsmoke featured some of the best written human dramas ever written for old time radio. Many consider it to be the best written series ever on old time radio. |

Kevin Drumm | Guillain-Barre (CD #1, track 1: faded out by -2:05) (Listen: Pop-up) | Imperial Distortion | Hospital Productions | Tolling bells --> ultimately sounds like a flight of planes from some World War 2 movie. Guillain-Barre: a rare immune system disorder in which it attacks the peripheral nervous system, resulting in loss of muscle control. Now you know. | ||||||

Formatia Valea Mare | Doina Lui Costel Sarambel (track 5) (Listen: Pop-up) | Departe De Casa | MA |
Most of the songs on this CD are very fast, indeed, often careening up to the edge of chaos. This song: slower parts alternate with jaunty and musique pompier (oom-pah bands).
They're a group of ex-Romanians, who were discovered while playing in the Paris Metro (subway). |
