Listener comments!

  11:05pm
Joe:

Hello, and welcome to "Doing your Taxes at the Last Possible Moment" with Evan "Fonk" Davies! Please recheck all your math before submission, and remember, it -is- perfectly acceptable to list Evan as a dependent! Because without your love, he dies.
  11:06pm
efd:

haha! Hi, Joe! You stole my opening mic break topic! :)
  11:07pm
Sybil:

Good evening! Are we all doing our taxes together?
  11:07pm
efd:

although I will say right up front that I am not actually going to play "Taxman," just in case anyone was wondering.
  11:07pm
Sybil:

I've got a number for you: 493!!!
  11:09pm
efd:

I do think that Jonathan Kane track was suitable for tax-doing.
  11:10pm
Droll:

Not even The Power Station cover of Taxman? Tony Thompson! Godzilla of Drums!
There's got to be a good mashup of Taxman with something...
  11:13pm
toni daytona:

WHUTS EFD??? I REALLY NEED YOUR OPINION,, SERIOUSLY!!! EFD,,DO YOU THINK THAT MILA KUNIS IS A GREAT ACTRESS??? I NEED FEEDBACK,,,PEACE EVAN!!!!!
  11:18pm
yeah! yeah! yeah!:

WHUTS wit dah heaby metal?
  11:29pm
dave:

come on down to my boat, baby. as a reasonably livable nominal second home, interest on my payments for it are a legitimate deduction on form 1098!
  11:30pm
Joe B:

If you don't want to add to the Beatles' plays, you could always play Black Oak Arkansas' version ... or not!
  11:30pm
toni d.:

evan,,,PLEASE i really do need feedback,,lemme know whut you think,,thanks=)=)
  11:36pm
Joe:

Mila Kunis is a fine young actress, but more importantly, a slammin', slammin' hottie.

What is "Evan's in the News"?

I'm new.
  11:38pm
E.L.:

EFD,

Can you someday build a show full of over-the-top songs and do the whole show in intense echo voice?

'twould be fun.
  11:43pm
efd:

Toni, now that you've finally hooked up with LuAnn's brother Brad I'm not sure if I want to start discussing actresses with you.
  11:43pm
Amanda:

Joe, if I remember right it deals with "Evans" (people named Evan) who have done noteworthy things, although "Evan's in the News" would be kind of fun too.

My taxes are in! TurboTax made it easier than ever this year. PLUG.
  11:46pm
efd:

Joe B. - thanks for the suggestion, if I'd thought for more than 45 minutes about the fact that my show was on Tax Day eve I might have put something together! I'll leave the Black Oak Arkansas for you to play tomorrow.
other Joe, Amanda summed it up pretty well.

I use Tax Cut myself.

E.L., that sounds like it would take a lot of preparation!
  11:47pm
jess:

efd,

toni and brad hooked up???? i'm so behind on my luann!

my taxes are in. i'm behind on schoolwork.
  11:49pm
efd:

oh shoot, sorry to spoil it for you, Jess!
  12:00am
toni d.:

well i'm out,,thank you sooo much for your time and support evan,,,jess,,,G'NITE
  12:02am
mo:

this movie sounds like a real feel good thing
  12:04am
Joe B:

I have to think of a fake name to call in with to win the Dead Meadow tickets.
  12:06am
efd:

too late, they're gone already!
  12:08am
efd:

mo, I was thinking the same thing when I was reading that description!
  12:13am
E.L.:

I l-u-v Ladytron.
  12:16am
Laurie:

I'm trying to decide if I want to see Ladytron when they roll up to Miami. They're playing Studio A, where a kid was shot to death on Sunday. The newspapers tell me a "hip hop event" was going on.

Does this mean I can only go to Studio A when indie nerd bands are playing?

Also, does the sister club, Studio B in Brooklyn, host such shenanigans? And by shenanigans, I mean senseless acts of violence.
  12:22am
Joe:

I saw Chromeo at Studio B over the summer, the crowd was quite rowdy and "urban" and there were no shenanigans to speak of. However there was quite a bit of ecstasy to speak of, and I find that the ecstasy crowd and the gun-toting crowd tend to be mutually exclusive, with the exact point of overlap being Ja Rule, himself.
  12:23am
E.L.:

Laurie,

If someone gets shot at that Ladytron concert I'll buy you a Mark Ryden painting. But seriously, go see them so you can tell me about it second hand. I'll be "wicked" jealous as we say in Providence.
  12:27am
Laurie:

Anyone know if Subway is giving away free cookies on tax day? I WANT.
  12:29am
E.L.:

Are Subway cookies good?! (He said incredulously)
  12:30am
Laurie:

Yes, they are. And I'm a food snob.
  12:31am
Amanda:

Free cookies? They DO that? Yes, Subway does have pretty good cookies.
  12:31am
E.L.:

In that case, thanks for the tip.
  12:36am
Droll:

Oh sure, the first one's free, and then when you get a jones for another they want like $2.39. Next thing you know you need a refreshing beverage to wash it down, and they're all too happy to help...
  12:37am
Jessica:

There is nothing like arriving home from the movies to Nice Face on the EFD show!
I really need to grab one of those special slabs of vinyl.
  12:40am
efd:

now if they start giving away Auntie Anne's pretzels I'll get excited.
Or Cinna-bons!

Jessica, as if Nice Face weren't enough just wait til you hear what's coming up in the next mic break.
  12:41am
Laurie:

Auntie Anne's cinnamon sugar pretzels... Oh, I love those things.
  12:45am
Laurie in Miami:

I'm impressed! Most FMU DJs totally mangle Spanish pronunciation. You didn't! Congratulations!
  12:47am
Jessica:

Yaaaay, EIN!!!
  12:49am
E.L.:

We share intitials and a first names.

The Rays??!
  12:51am
Laurie:

I saw Elf Power at Studio A. There were no shootings that night.
  12:54am
E.L.:

Wow.

Based on my last post, I'm signing out for a record number of typos. Bye all!
  12:56am
efd:

goodnight E.L., thanks for listening/commenting! and don't worry about the typos, that is not a prerequisite by any means!
  12:57am
efd:

Laurie, thanks for the compliment on my spanish pronunciation -- I credit years of watching Lucha Libre and Sabado Gigante on channel 47.
  1:01am
Laurie:

Oh man, I once attended a Sabado Gigante taping. It was madness. They tape in Hialeah, which is about a half hour drive from where I reside
  1:03am
Amanda:

I'm gunning for a Spanish-language EFD show, but only if it's all in the echo voice.

FYI, a friend just notified me via Gchat that he will be listening to this program regularly now, all because of APB. So, congrats?
  1:16am
efd:

ha! I like that idea, Amanda!

Tell your APB-loving friend that he should check out the live set they played on my show back in December of 2006.
  1:22am
joem:

Ah, so this is the EFD remix, eh? (much cooler than saying it skipped...)
  1:23am
efd:

i think that was the Skippy McSkipperson remix actually...
  1:26am
Joe:

For it to be the Remix you have to scream REEEEE-MIXXXX and play the racecar noise, then start the song over. Like four times in a row.

Hmm, the night suddenly got much hotter...
  1:31am
Amanda:

Joe M! I bring you into the fold and you immediately zing the DJ? I'm so ashamed.

Regular Joe -- I agree 100% with your Remix rules culled from commercials for Sprite Remix.
  1:42am
efd:

Joe M, please ignore the comment above suggesting that Amanda's friend check out the live APB set. ;)
  1:51am
senior junior:

blank dogs at blog spot with download of on two sides and inconspicuous donate button"
http://blankdogs.blogspot.com/2008/03/news-lp-now-available-for-download.html
  1:53am
joem:

hahaha
  2:00am
efd:

thanks everyone for listening and commenting! I really appreciate it.
I think I set a record tonight with three different Joes checking in!
  2:02am
joem:

Soon, everyone will be named joe. And nice show. Amanda will have to remind me to tune in more.
  2:02am
Regular Joe:

Glad to do it, Ev. Being grouped with Belock is a small touch with greatness.

Taxes are done, show is over.

"Ah-ha-ha. Ever get the feeelin' you've been cheated? G'Nite."
