Every show starts with the ’70s! We’ll rediscover forgotten rockers, revisit unfairly maligned disco beats and replay power-pop favorites. Next: plenty of new releases, occasional live bands and more. Don’t let the nickname confuse you.

  11:12pm
efd:

  11:32pm
marc:

  11:33pm
stephanie c.:

idaho ears are open! i'm attending my first caucus tomorrow!
  11:35pm
peter:

I'm in California, and I'll be voting tomorrow, for Wavy Gravy, just kidding. He's not running this year.

I actually enjoyed Tom Petty yesterday, I must be getting old...
  11:37pm
freshie:

  11:40pm
mark g:

hey from melbourne, australia x the menck track was insane :)

  11:42pm
marc:

hey mark g, is melbourne voting in Super Tuesday tomorrow??
  11:44pm
jason:

hoping to get off this dead end street by heading to the polls tomorrow down here on the south side of chicago. (begin channeling lou rawls' spirit here.)
  11:44pm
mark g:

haha + nope ++ i don't understand what it is actually... ++ our election was last year and the conservative freak john howard was voted out, thank god !!
  11:50pm
marc:

in order to pick the presidential candidates, from our two political parties, to face off in november, there is a nominating process. tomorrow almost half the country--24 states vote in that process. thats why its called "Super Tuesday."
  11:56pm
mark g:

thanks ! here there is only one candidate from each party who runs for prime minister... it's a 2 horse race from the beginning of campaigning... whoa sound like a huge day tomorrow... good luck !
  12:01am
marc:

if my count is correct, at the start of this race in january there were more than 10 --if my memory is good.
  12:03am
marc:

now there's 2 democrats and 3 republicans
  12:09am
mark g:

will it be close?
and who is from which party... obama is ___ ?
hilary is ___ ?
and who and what's the other ?
there is some coverage here but not loads...
  12:11am
marc:

obama and hillary are democrats; Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and John McCain are Republicans
  12:15am
Jessica:

Huah!
  12:17am
efd:

i guess "kung fu fighting" after that would have been too obvious...
  12:19am
marc:

never heard of "five fingers of death."
  12:20am
?:

THANKS !
another difference is that voting is compulsory here... you get fined 50 bucks if you don't show up (of course it's very important to vote and you'd be crazy not to)
we've has a Labor federal government since last year, after 10 years of ultra-conservative rule... phewy... everything cheerier now :)
  12:23am
marc:

it should be compulsory here as well with a fine for those who dont vote. id be in favor of that
  12:25am
marc:

"five fingers of death" aka "Tian Xia di yi quan"
  12:35am
Marcelo:

Do you know how happy I am listening this sounds? Excellent show, Evan, and great isteners too... Greetings from Argentina
  12:37am
efd:

hey, thanks Marcelo! Glad you're enjoying the show, thanks for checking in all the way from Argentina!
And thanks to Marc and Mark and all the Super Tuesday voters. Any more out there?
  12:41am
clcradio:

I am interested how Accuplaylist works?
  12:44am
Kenzo:

DJ does nice show, writes about it, you listen and watch and write comments. Squirrels work behind the scenes. Magic.

  12:44am
clcradio:

I kind of like the PL and MSG concept being live, but I don't like the fact the pages are refreshing (should be coded to just refresh cells)
  12:45am
mark g:

yes, excellet show efd ! i listen in from AUS frequently too :) PEAZ X
  12:45am
Jessica:

Holy heck, that is some serious studio-mic-fu: the clipping of your final consonants is the only clue, other than your telling us, that oh yeah it's actual real live winter out there. My tells would be somethings more like groans and whines.

Out here in Berkeley, CA, over the last 24hrs we've had 5 very personable Obama volunteers call to encourage us to vote - which vote is in fact going to be for their candidate, with pipe dreams of an /Edwards ticket - and several rounds of Duelling Clinton Auto-Dialers. My answering machine is filled with half-pitches and transfer-click-bleeps. I can't wait for the morning, when the calls, and the governor's larcenous casino development schemes, will fade from culture-gone-wrong outrage to cocktail-chatter guffaw.
  12:46am
efd:

thanks Kenzo, that's a much better explanation than i would have given!
clcradio, you are getting the info straight from the horse's (or programmer's) mouth!
  12:49am
Jessica:

Squirrels! They *are* plenty crafty, if camera shy.

  12:51am
clcradio:

Vox sounds 5x5! OH, the playlist "squirrel" programmer, I C. I can fix the refresh code, though, and page code so they work without using frames - if you want, no charge, if you like. (for me, things work better not in frames). Our station uses audiorealm and L365 nano servers for "now playing" info in auto-mode, but your thing is cool for live!
  12:52am
clcradio:

I like this song, "Your DJ speaks" (haha)
  12:53am
clcradio:

Do you like Foamy Squirrel adventures?
  1:21am
clcradio:

I found the KenzoDB page!
  1:24am
efd:

clc, I wouldn't be so quick to second-guess our database wizard... we went through a number of iterations with the live comments, and for a number of reasons the version you're looking at is what works best for us here at FMU, frames and all.
  1:26am
Randy in NC:

I think everyone got too comfortable...
  1:28am
efd:

heh, could be!
  1:28am
efd:

there's still 5 minutes to go!
  1:43am
freshie:

i heart fancey. maybe even more than destroyer. though I don't have to choose on that, right?
  1:45am
efd:

no, i think there's room for both fancey and destroyer, and then some.
