Randy in NC:

Hurrah's! What a great place that was. I didn't go, but recall the incident you mentioned. It was so clean and spacious compared to CB's and Max's. Plus there were girls there... It was right near Lincoln Center, I think they knocked down the bldg it was in and put some thing hi rise there, no?
 12:05am
Tom (The Bactrian Support Network):

Remember ""A&7""" haha
 12:05am
crunk:

 12:14am
crunk:

 12:21am
efd:

someone out there should look up Jimmy Page and the Factotums, I'm almost sure he played guitar on at least one of their songs at some point.
 12:23am
efd:

i would also like to know what "chido liro" means.
 12:26am
punx:

Jimmy Page was in the studio at the time and laid down a 12 string guitar fill in “Can’t Go Home Anymore My Love”

si. http://www.manchesterbeat.com/bands/factotums/factotums.php
 12:29am
Nikola:

Yep. Jimmy Page did something with "Hip Young Guitar Singer." And Babelfish refuses to cooperate with all of this silly lingo going about.
 12:30am
efd:

a-HAAA! thank you, punx and Nikola!
 12:34am
demonique:

IDIOT FLESH
 12:51am
Randy in NC:

Wikipedia - Hip Young Guitar Slinger - A compilation of pre Zeppelin studio sessions, recorded 1962 - 1966. The Factotums are disk 2, track 8.
 1:03am
Matt:

Don't trust anyone over thirty is a collab between japanther and artist Dan Graham. That's maybe why it seems like a concept album.
 1:07am
Julie Bean:

oceans of sound...great stuff.

and big ups to RON PAUL.
 1:10am
churner:

 1:16am
slugluv1313:

Tom: "A&7" are you referring to "A7" that was on corner of Avenue A and East 7th Street, later turned in to King Tut's Wa Wa Hut???

(yep i remember Hurrah too . . . saw The Specials there, Suicide, a buncha others i cannot recall right now . . . )
 1:17am
churner:

how's king tuts wa wa hut?
 1:25am
slugluv1313:

the wa wa hut is no more -- for many many years -- some other bar there now, don't know the name
 1:26am
Randy in NC:

I specifically recall seeing Per Ubu, james White and the Blacks, the Raybeats w/Debbie Harry there. It's kinda where Punk intersected with disco. Come to think of it, I think I saw the Specials there too.
 1:29am
churner:

oh well
 1:33am
slugluv1313:

if i remember correctly, Hurrah may have been a disco before it became Hurrah??? . . . but yeah, it sure was SPACIOUS compared to Max's, CBGB, TR3, even the Mudd Club -- nice place to dance!

then a buncha other places sprang up, in NYC and NJ, converting from "disco" to "new wave" . . . i remember seeing X at a place called The 80s (somewhere uptown?)
 1:35am
churner:

the good ol days, huh

RON PAUL 2008
 1:35am

efd:

thanks slugluv! i have to admit, i am loving this set (if i do say so myself)!
oh, and The 80s was on E. 86th, around 3rd Ave or so - not too far from Privates. I was in a band that played at The 80s once - we were on a bill with future hitmaker Desmond Child!
 1:39am
Randy in NC:

I went to the 80's too. A pain to get to when you lived in Brooklyn though.

Great show!!
 1:39am
punx:

Privates! Too punk!
 1:39am

 2:47am
slugluv1313:

omigosh Desmond Child! with or without -- ROUGE?!?!

 10:59am
