Listener comments!

  9:12am Brandon:

Dont make me add anymore. It hurts
  9:15am Doug:

Add, subtract, divide, multiply. Whatever. Just do something.
  9:23am Brandon:

Doug, Have you ever considered a "morning zoo" approach to radio?
  9:25am brown:

Ich liebe es!!!
  9:27am Doug:

Actually, in 2000, this program was voted "Best Morning Radio Show" in NYC beating Stern and Imus and that "Morning Zoo" show, on the Website CitySearch NY.

Woof.
  9:32am Hugo:

Pretty good so far, but you knew I would say that.
  9:38am Pamela:

Boy, youse DJ's really have to work hard - accuplaylist, real time comments, etc.

Love your show, as usual... The only problem is that it keeps me glued to the desk and I have to go to the bathroom! :-)
  9:39am Doug:

Hugo this way and I go that!
  9:43am Hugo:

You go Broadway and I go Norway, meeting on Bergen Street!
  9:45am Rowney:

love it from rainy england
  9:47am cmc:

I'm craving some early Santana, can ya help a listener out?
  9:58am Hugo:

No rain here in Bergen, Norway, which some folks would claim is against nature. Bergen is the Seattle of Norway, weather-wise and is also the sister city of that city on the upper west coast. Up in the far north, people are sunbathing (!) whereas those unfortunate to be residing in the eastern interior are slowly drowning. Ah well ...
  10:02am Doug:

The sun is glorious here in NYC/Northern NJ. A cool day in July is a Cool day in July, if you get me!
  10:14am The Other Doug:

Loverly day in Ann Arbor today, too.

Anyone want to go to the beach tomorrow with me and Annie?
  10:15am Parq:

A Friday day off at last, and I get to listen to the whole show for a change. Indeed, I slept through the first half-hour. A good deal, except I missed that glorious segue from the Israeli Anthem to Jujus. No setup is perfect.
  10:17am Sybil:

Doug, this recording by Rabbi Naftali Zvi Margolies is so beautiful and such a great historical record of a certain style. Is there any way to get it released?

Love your show.
  10:18am Doug:

Parq, you pick up the Other Doug and Annie in your Falcon Stationwagon, then blow your horn three times and I'll be down in a flash.
  10:22am Brandon:

I am still lamenting the lack of an FMU zoo.

We need:
Midgets
Sound effects
Flatulence

Zoinks!!! I say
  10:30am gerardo:

tremenda playlist la de hoy!,
tremenda selección de rock sudaca! - y muy buen castellano el tuyo, doug (your spanish sounds great, man)

saludos a todos en WFMU desde Chile, otra vez
  10:33am Doug:

Gerardo, I'm glad three years of high school Spanish can be put to good use. Please don't hesitate to correct me when necessary.
  10:57am gerardo:

cero problema, compadre! ;)
  10:59am ?:

NOT A CHANGE IS GONNA COME BUT YOU'LL COME RUNNING BACK
  11:03am cmc:

Doug, you rock!!!
  11:10am Doug:

Maybe igneus, possibly metamorphic but surely not sedimentary...
  11:17am b:

or the sort of rock that falls in Freehold
  11:26am Matt:

If coffee won't wake you up Kaoru Abe certainly will!
  11:29am Doug:

Nothing like putting a little Abe in your coffee.
  11:33am Hugo:

Adding Arthur (Doyle), the cup will surely overflow!
  12:03pm Hugo:

... and adding that last chap is gonna blow the cup to smithereens ...
  12:04pm Bob Lee:

Awright! The Kengo luchi lunchtime special! Hows'about a loop next time?
  12:06pm Doug:

Brian Turner says it sounds like he's having his back waxed.
  12:12pm Hugo:

Better than having his front waxed, I suppose ...
  9:36pm Rob Eyre:

24 carat blacknuss
  10:39am Doug:

Rob,
That 24-Carat Black album was a revelation. Didn't know of it until I found it online. Check the link, in the playlist, above.

Woo-hah!
  11:11am Paul Sherratt:

Rain stopped play for the Friday Live but maybe that was a blessing - medicine this strong needs controlled doses !

That Cooke & Staples ... oh boy.

Has Stanley Winston ever featured on The Drummer ?
  12:08am Doug:

Anyone beloved to the beloved John Peel is beloved to me. Yes, I have played Mr. Winston (looky here: http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/11412) and I got that track from a wunnerful collection called "Great Moments in Vinyl History," compiled by the beloved Andy Kershaw. Now where or where did I get that disc from? The beloved Paul Sherratt!!
