There's a very Tomorrow type vibe going on here. There's some sort of British Sgt Pepper/Piper at the Gates of Dawn thing going on in some areas of the net,,, and I'm down for this

Hey, MHLee! I'd never heard this song before. There's a very odd backstory to this. Back in the 1970s, Martin Lewis who had been an assistant to Beatles' press agent, worked at the the magazine Disc. He wrote an article on Beatles' rarities and added four titles that didn't exist:

COLLIDING CIRCLES
PINK LITMUS PAPER SHIRT
DECKCHAIR
LEFT IS RIGHT (AND RIGHT IS WRONG)

People swore they heard them. LOL!

Well, R. Stevie Moore wrote songs to go along with two of the titles: Colliding Circles and Pink Litmus Paper Shirt in the 1980s. Martin Lewis heard about them in the late 90s and contacted RSM.

You can read more here:

*I forgot to add Derek Taylor's name as the press agent above.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am
MHLee:

I think I've been there before... because for a while I was investigating as the Candle Burns. We have figured out that was created for a student radio station in Florida as a joke

That tracks. There were lots of them that showed up on bootlegs. One was an excerpt of an Ornette Coleman piece, IIRC.

↳ Song: "Pink Litmus Paper Shirt" by "Strange Turn"
Just read the links about the fake Beatles song titles. So, did Strange Turn perform R Stevie Moore's composition or make one up of their own? (Still looking for RSM recording.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
MHLee:

↳ WR @12:12
I'm pretty sure it's their own... i vaguely remember R. Stevie Moore's on spotify
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm
MHLee:

↳ Song: "Goddess of Night" by "Weather Veins"
Weather Veins has two albums and a lot of scattered tracks on compilations. She told me she writes them specifically for the compilations. The first album is more folky and thjs one is more proggy.

Interesting version. Leaning heavily into psych Syd atmosphere.

The garage proto punk band I was in in my youth did Lucifer Sam. Great fun. My part was to make as much diverse discordant sound as I could with my keyboard and then to shout along on the chorus. Good times.
