i am really loving their music! first i am thinking they are a recently unearthed gem, maybe from the early 1970s? did not realize that they are a contemporary band! πΈπ€― (based in Philadelphia?)
they capture this vibe created by some of the (interesting, unique, talented!) "folkie" type kids who would really shine at these goofy "coffee houses" at my high school -- with some "quiet" Velvet Underground currents meshing in there (if that makes any sense! π΅βπ«πΈ)

WOW Belaradio is actually in Hungary -- i am honored! πΊπΊ
sure, growing up, my Mom and Grandma had a lot of Hungarian records (including 78s!) -- but not like they were keeping their eyes peeled for Hungarian "punk" bands!

- wow, wish I had been just a we bit older then. Missed so many of my fave bands of that era cause I was 13-16 yrs etc. Yet lucky enough to briefly hear (barely see) The Slits do several songs opening for The Clash at their extended stint at those oversold 1981 Sandinista! concerts at Bonds. Yikes. a memorable night for a kid.

yes, that was me! i consider myself very, very lucky to have seen so many of these artists -- i did see The Clash for their first show in NYC (maybe the States?) and two times after that -- but not the Bond's shows (i had friends who did go to some of those, and they felt the same way! )
i think my "gateways" were David Bowie, Lou Reed, NY Dolls (not sure who came first?) but SO different from where i was growing up (where i most definitely did not fit in!)
my Grandma corresponded with relatives in Hungary, when it was still Communist -- nowadays, it is a little easier to find out about music, artists from those days -- but still kinda daunting!
slugluv1313:
happy to be here πΊπΊ
have you considered doing Jesus Built My Hot Rod?
