yes! reading her books really does feel like that!
she did a reading at Rough Trade in Brooklyn when her second book came out ("To Throw Away Unopened") -- she is super sweet in person too! i told her i had seen The Slits at, among other places, Tier 3 (a/k/a TR3) soooo many years ago (it was a "secret" show but the tiny place was packed, i was practically nose to nose with her), and she signed both books for me
DJ Cat Gosshie arrived in the mail today! could not have happened on a better day (all kinds of stupid stress) -- gotta finish up a few things, then going to open up the package and read while listening -- thank you again! 😺😺

*somewhere* in the black hole that is my apartment, i have the program/booklet from Franklin Furnace's "Hidden Story: Samizdat from Hungary and Elsewhere" -- i am wondering if trabant was involved with, or part of, the exhibition? (which was thoroughly mind-blowing: truly underground and illegal art, music, etc. that could literally land you in jail or worse when these countries were all still Communist -- i realized that i could never really feel the same about "punks" and others in the States whining about being stuck in the suburbs, or whatever)
