My brother, unfortunately, needs one every 3 months due to Crohn's Disease and potential cancer risk. Also, as he's in Oz, it's all covered by national insurance -- but his provider never mentioned Clenpiq. He didn't even know it existed and he was drinking the 2 liters of awful crap every 3 months. He's asking his provider to see if it's even available in Australia -- he's happy to pay out of pocket for it just to avoid the gross stuff. It really DID make prep a snap. And to anyone afraid of getting one, get off your ass and get it done if you are 45 or older, earlier if you have risk factors.

OTOH, as my bro pointed out, "luxury" meds aren't really a priority. When I had my colonoscopy done, my bro asked me how prep was, and I said it was no biggie. He immediately said "HOW COME ALL OF MY US FRIENDS SAY THAT?" Well, they're all well-heeled with OK insurance and get the Clenpiq. I hope he can get it for his own comfort's sake; it's tough enough for him to prep while taking care of 2 small kids and running his own business. Post-COVID his hubs has to go into the office 2-4 days on any given week so he has to schedule his prep around that also. I never got any fun drugs with a colonoscopy and I don't mind the Prevacid spike in the back of my hand. I stay on top of my tests, given that Mom had noncancerous polyps and my brother's abysmal colon health.

He's asking his provider to see if it's even available in Australia -- he's happy to pay out of pocket for it just to avoid the gross stuff. It really DID make prep a snap. And to anyone afraid of getting one, get off your ass and get it done if you are 45 or older, earlier if you have risk factors.

He immediately said "HOW COME ALL OF MY US FRIENDS SAY THAT?" Well, they're all well-heeled with OK insurance and get the Clenpiq.
