...he piloted his small craft thru the stretching & barren landscape
...the remains of the creatures like ruined cathedrals - towering & now half decimated, as if half never built. He flew the gaps in their forms - as if navigating his own grim & remorseful internal spaces, memories & thoughts - @ the very same time on another level as if they narrated the History of this misbegotten planet & its dominant race - who could not heed their higher logics & ideals - the desiccated memorial to themselves now - in all their high potentials & colossal folly...

just a few days ago, i cracked open one of my antique laptops to pull the hard disk (had been putting it off for ~15 years i think -but now i can't see as well as i could, so it was a little trickier than the last time i'd been in there).

it's hilarious how small the trackpad is compared to my mba -- almost posted a pic (have the pic for whenever the mood strikes)

still not as tricky as either of the iPhones i took apart, fixed and reassembled were (after dropping them infill glasses of water)...

got them working too, though i had to steal a camera form a loaner phone the last time.

I'll let ya know when i do (though i'm guessing antique machines aren't all that interesting to you).

There's Debtors Anonymous, if your record collecting is making you go into debt. I know at least one WFMU DJ who's taking a look at that one! (But I don't know if it's due to record collecting.) There's also Clutterers Anonymous, if your records count as clutter. If they're pretty well organized and you have decent feng shui, though, then that probably doesn't count.

kind of what i had been doing all my life, but one day i let laziness prevail... so pleased i did (no idea how the machines are about letting enough water in in time), but it worked out, and i use the same machines at the same laundromat, so i think i'm good. :-) until failure (my ever faithful friend) rears it's hideous head again

i'd bet the industrial machines are better. otherwise they'd get a bad reputation and wouldn't get bought.
...i've had good clothes ruined with different home clothes washers. samsung is the worst. (but then - samsung...that machine sucked in every way.)
