The Radio Is Broken is a three-hour spelunk through the canyons and fissures of humanity's collective unconscious. It sounds as if a field recording of the Culture Industry were a sonic juggernaut barreling down a rickety track—except that tunnel ahead is just painted onto a sheer cliff wall. With occasional forays into what might pass for "normal" music. Prerequisite journey: Cratedigger's Lung

spent all day wandering around southwest iowa buying records because i have some leftover christmas cash that's burning a hole in my pocket

started off the haul by ordering some tull, judy collins, live/dead, roland shannon jackson, and pierre henry's collab with spooky tooth off of discogs

then i bought some association, nat adderley, and trane at one thrift shop and some earl klugh, a private press piano trio, and james gang's live album at another

The brainwashed ones only "awaken" at their own will, but still only see the world as it's being "taught" to them by tight-fisted heirarchical types. And I'll let you in on soneof my personal beliefs: White Man's America is not a "country" in the institutional sense to me. I'd call it a "cultry", a collection of diverse "cults", each catering to a particular tenet or a prefabricated system of faith. They could be masquerading as social clubs, privately-owned rehabilitation centers or any other type of legitimate-looking institution. Sometimes the behaviors of the ones in charge will give away the true intentions behind their ulterior motives.
