Got so wrapped up and shocked while listening to NPR's top-of-the-hour news that TIME magazine had chosen(as they did in 2016) DONALD TRUMP as their PERSON OF THE YEAR. I jumped on my phone to switch over to catch the start of your show. ISAAC HAYES records were big during my service in Vietnam, this record especially. I also have fond memories of his playing the character CHEF on "South Park." His ACADEMY AWARD for "Theme from SHAFT" was well-earned. He can sure lay down a groove!

One night on TV there was a beauty contest on hosted by Barry Manilow. My guy was stunned when the show came on, then he didn't stop laughing for the rest of the show. I've never seen anyone so happy in my life.

Saw them again a time or two during my long residence in LA. The re-release of their concert film, "Stop Making Sense"( in expanded form) was a highlight of 2024.

Along with his wife, singer MARY FORD, he demonstrated how he could produce a choir of Marys with a tape recorder. To a kid like me, it was mesmerizing, even if I didn't understand the technology.

	10:44am Gerry from Miami: Unfortunately, I never got to see CREEDENCE live. When I went to see JOHN FOGERTY while he was touring on his first solo album, "Centerfield," he was in that phase where he refused to perform any of the group's hits. He would have to pay royalties to SAUL ZANTZ of Fantasy Records(who owned the publishing and performing rights to the band's songs) and he was 100% against doing that. Years later he relented when the issue was resolved. Sad tale with a fairly happy ending.

	♥ 11:06am ThunderDumplin' (MW in Baltimore): Ugh, my basement is a bit of a sore spot for me. 2/3 of it is great - my 22 year old lives in part of it, the largest part is a music space, complete with drums9on an improvised riser that used to be a Murphy bed platform), guitars, basses, a keyboard, and amps. But the other 1/3 is the laundry room/dumping spot. I've cleaned it up and organized it probably 4-5 times in the 6.5 years I've lived in that house, and it has a propensity for spinning back out of control almost immediately.

It's a rectangular, flat tin wall hanging with a patritiotic flag carrying eagle on it. My grandmother painted on it "1776 - Freedom For America. 1976 - Freedom for Harold". My retirement sign will probably say "2076 - Freed For Tim" when I'm 103 years old.

Got so wrapped up and shocked while listening to NPR's top-of-the-hour news that TIME magazine had chosen(as they did in 2016) DONALD TRUMP as their PERSON OF THE YEAR. I jumped on my phone to switch over to catch the start of your show. ISAAC HAYES records were big during my service in Vietnam, this record especially. I also have fond memories of his playing the character CHEF on "South Park." His ACADEMY AWARD for "Theme from SHAFT" was well-earned. He can sure lay down a groove!

Saw them again a time or two during my long residence in LA. The re-release of their concert film, "Stop Making Sense"( in expanded form) was a highlight of 2024.

When I went to see JOHN FOGERTY while he was touring on his first solo album, "Centerfield," he was in that phase where he refused to perform any of the group's hits. He would have to pay royalties to SAUL ZANTZ of Fantasy Records(who owned the publishing and performing rights to the band's songs) and he was 100% against doing that. Years later he relented when the issue was resolved. Sad tale with a fairly happy ending.

	♥ 11:06am ThunderDumplin' (MW in Baltimore): Ugh, my basement is a bit of a sore spot for me. 2/3 of it is great - my 22 year old lives in part of it, the largest part is a music space, complete with drums9on an improvised riser that used to be a Murphy bed platform), guitars, basses, a keyboard, and amps. But the other 1/3 is the laundry room/dumping spot. I've cleaned it up and organized it probably 4-5 times in the 6.5 years I've lived in that house, and it has a propensity for spinning back out of control almost immediately.
