in 1980 i worked at an amusement park in lake george as a dancing bear. there was a guy who worked there running the teacups who claimed he was a musician, and one friday he didn't show up. monday he said he was flown down to nashville to record a country album with lynda carter. a few months later he wrote me a letter and said he needed money to get ownership of the master tapes. i never responded, but what a fantastic fantasy that guy held on to.

Reminds me of this guy I met while working at a UPS store in Nashville named the Everglades Wildman. Claimed he had written over a million songs, and when I looked him up they were all videos of him dancing in front of a camera with dollar store props singing country he songs he made up on the spot over karaoke tracks. He was in the store because he wanted me to fax a typewritten letter to the governor about stealing some land from him or something.
