With all the bumps, the tailgate opened and one of my jungle boots fell out. I found this out when we got to the trail leading down to the beach, I was bummed - I needed that boot! We climbed down to the beach and took all our clothes off, but I couldn't stop thinking about my boot. A couple hours later, we headed back up the trail then drove back up the fire road. There it was! Standing straight up in the middle of the road - my boot!

Well, one footwear story deserves another: The same ex and I were hiking across a very robust stream in Mineral King - the lowest National Park in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Her shoe came off, and shot like a rocket down stream. She started screaming "My shoe, my shoe!" I took off like a jack rabbit , hopping over boulders and jumping in foamy pools of ice cold water. I caught up with the wayward shoe and grabbed it, then held it over my head. I was soaking wet. From upstream she yelled "My hero!" I finally did something that made her happy. To me, that was a good day.

With all the bumps, the tailgate opened and one of my jungle boots fell out. I found this out when we got to the trail leading down to the beach, I was bummed - I needed that boot! We climbed down to the beach and took all our clothes off, but I couldn't stop thinking about my boot. A couple hours later, we headed back up the trail then drove back up the fire road. There it was! Standing straight up in the middle of the road - my boot!

Well, one footwear story deserves another: The same ex and I were hiking across a very robust stream in Mineral King - the lowest National Park in the Southern Sierra Nevada. Her shoe came off, and shot like a rocket down stream. She started screaming "My shoe, my shoe!" I took off like a jack rabbit , hopping over boulders and jumping in foamy pools of ice cold water. I caught up with the wayward shoe and grabbed it, then held it over my head. I was soaking wet. From upstream she yelled "My hero!" I finally did something that made her happy. To me, that was a good day.
