What you are doing as an org with such reach is something beautiful. They're in the limit, walking the line in a beautiful way (you can't endorse candidates unless their political issues specifically impact your mission, and I agree with WFMU the issues are so dire they absolutely impact the mission bc they impact all listeners). My point is a lot of 501(c)3s mistakenly think they can't at all, and orgs like WFMU are proving otherwise and should be seen as best practice for that.

	1:28pm tim: Man, I've been thinking alot of the line in NY's 'Powder Finger' in which the dad's advises the son 'red means run and numbers add up to nuthin" in regard to the internet. My free time internet use mainly consists of WFMU and looking at records. I don't look at videos, stream movies, listen to podcasts, not social media etc. "Red means run" to me is that the second anything on the internet looks sketchy, I'm out of there in a hurry. Then with "numbers add up to nuthin" is most of internet displayed news, social media, memes, etc doesn't add up to me. It makes no friggin sense. I'm not preaching hear, just explaining what's in my chimp brain.

It depends on the state. Some states allow felons to vote once they're out of prison. Others ban felons from voting for life unless the state restores their civil rights through a cumbersome bureaucratic process (this is often the former slave states that coincidentally have managed to disenfranchise significant percentages of their African American populations this way). Trump WOULD have been ineligible to run had the Senate convicted him at his second impeachment trial after the Jan. 6 insurrection attempt. But not enough Republicans voted to convict.

My free time internet use mainly consists of WFMU and looking at records. I don't look at videos, stream movies, listen to podcasts, not social media etc. "Red means run" to me is that the second anything on the internet looks sketchy, I'm out of there in a hurry. Then with "numbers add up to nuthin" is most of internet displayed news, social media, memes, etc doesn't add up to me. It makes no friggin sense. It depends on the state. Some states allow felons to vote once they're out of prison. Others ban felons from voting for life unless the state restores their civil rights through a cumbersome bureaucratic process (this is often the former slave states that coincidentally have managed to disenfranchise significant percentages of their African American populations this way). Trump WOULD have been ineligible to run had the Senate convicted him at his second impeachment trial after the Jan. 6 insurrection attempt. But not enough Republicans voted to convict.
