I'm a 63 year old brit & have probably voted just over 2 dozen times or so & I doubt if the TOTAL amount of time I've spent queueing to vote adds up to 90 mins.
Polling stations (in cities) are never more than 5-10 minutes walk away.
And we don't have early voting either, it's just all on the one day.
I'm baffled when I read of ppl queuing for hours on election day.
It's not like UK & yank City population densities are vastly different.
I don't understand what you are doing, but you are doing it wrong.
& as for laws banning handing out water to ppl queuing for hours to vote,..., wtf?!?
Those who drafted & passed such laws need locking up imo.

But it does seem you are spectacularly bad at the polling process, it's not just Georgia, I've read of 4 hour long queues on voting day in parts of texas & hour plus queues in california & florida in prior elections.
&its not just the queues, imo, the US is getting loads of other aspects wrong too.
Machine voting allows bad actors to suggest that the machines are rigged, so they lack transparency. Of course ballot boxes can be 'stuffed' but ppl believe that can be more easily caught than rigged machines.
This became apparent decades ago in the times of the hanging chads.
And since then Koch ( & then Theil Zuck Putin d now Musk & Bezos) backed factions have sought to increase distrust & generally attack meaning in a hypernormal fashion.
And so now you have a party openly campaigning on a platform of "we are going to steal the election to stop the other side from stealing it" & they boast of how they are going to do this.
The aim is no longer to win the election, the aim is to ensure that the result is disputed & that chaos ensues.
Authoritarians have long sought to present themselves as the solution to the very chaos that they themselves have created & promoted.
The Nazis did it. Lenin did it. Peron did it. Modi & Putin do it & now the GOP are going to do it too.
I vety much doubt that there'll be an inauguration at all.
This all seems crystal clear to me & I can't understand why seemingly so few other ppl can see it too.

thank you for this! i have not been out this weekend, but going to drop my mail-in ballot in the drop box outside of City Hall tomorrow, here in Hoboken -- curious to see if there are lines -- although maybe they happened over the weekend here too?

it sounds like this question got onto the ballot through rather shady methods -- people (paid, probably by developers!) going around town, asking people if they want to "save affordable housing" etc.
unfortunately, i did not have the time to research this, to see if this was even legal, and then have the question removed from the ballot
and yes, of course, there have been efforts to amend rent control -- but voting "yes" would definitely give incentives to landlords to get rid of any and all tenants in rent controlled apartments (like me!), so they could then turn massive profit$$$

There'll be loads, as there's plenty of aspects of the process to game (the count, ratification, ec vote ratification of the ec vote).
And cases will be appealed & go to SCOTUS etc.
The aim will be that these demos turn violent & then the chaos escalated from there.
& even if dems don't turn up (which is unlikely) they koch/theil/putin/etc backed factions will false flag it or try to trigger racial unrest.
They haven't spent best part of 5 decades priming the public to back out now.
