Engine 27 was an interesting space--but short lived. Generator Gen Ken Montgomery was in discussions about programing--but it led to nought.

Have to head off to work, but want to thank Stephen, Michael, and Daniel so much for highlighting Steve Roden’s work in what’s already been a wonderful show. I’ll be looking forward to listening to the rest in the archives

In the archive are 4-track tapes, cassettes, microcassettes, various reel to reel formats, minidiscs, and numerous other formats tracing 30 + years

Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Many thots. Cage's whole thing with Audition - that it's our Listening as an act in itself - that is primary. Not sure Cage's aleatory happenings ever conveyed this sense of a diorama or sonic terrarium like this tho...
  10:21pm
Jennifer & Bill:

another thought about 'lowercase'...we first thought it simply refers to that which is smaller/more minuscule, which makes sense given his audio work. Since he also was a visual artist, we wonder if he thought of the association of lowercase with visual artistic impact i.e. in poetry...

In a doc about Eno (not the big recent release - but a freebie I saw on PlutoTV) - someone did make the observation there was more mood & expression & characteristic pattern than maybe he liked to say there was...

actually doubling down on my apology, dreyer's passion of jeanne d'arc was silent and defacto could not be used for a sound experiment. just heard the imagined mistake peripherally while engaged in another activity ooops
  11:17pm
Stephen:

I feel like reading that would have led Steve to make something with the Dreyer film. Steve and I did a performance at Rothko Chapel with seemingly silent recordings, including the Marcel Marceau record
