Thus, I saw Polvo at a venue called Brownies on Avenue A in Manhattan in probably 1994 or so. It was a small venue, so there sound really filled p the space. Back then Merge was mostly a label to release local bands. Now it's an independent phenomenon.

Hurricanes destruction is not political. It can't take your point into consideration & it is a very valid one. Natural disasters affect all people no matter their stripe politically. Bad policy however tends to favor the wealthiest and hurts those in the middle & the poorest the most. I can't get into all of the sub causes & effects of what I posted above, but just what's there is enough to illustrate the point that one person is doing immense damage to many people with his ego. Then all we hear is PLEASE WILL YOU DONATE? $11B would go a long way to reducing the need for average charitable Joe & Jane to reach in their pocket to help, while also constantly being told to tighten their belts due to rising prices etc.

The book was written in a very heavily British way (understandable) but for someone like me who has no conception really of the Educational system there (A levels, Secondary Modern etc.) It forces me to have to stop reading & look things up. Since I have reading issues already that make me read & re-read passages, it becomes cumbersome. I've read books by Brits Elvis Costello & Peter Frampton among others, who talk about their schooldays in England, but they didn't dwell as heavily on the details as Hitchcock does. But hey..it's his life & his book :)

The book was written in a very heavily British way (understandable) but for someone like me who has no conception really of the Educational system there (A levels, Secondary Modern etc.) It forces me to have to stop reading & look things up. Since I have reading issues already that make me read & re-read passages, it becomes cumbersome. I've read books by Brits Elvis Costello & Peter Frampton among others, who talk about their schooldays in England, but they didn't dwell as heavily on the details as Hitchcock does. But hey..it's his life & his book :)
