Favoriting October 7, 2024: Janel & Anthony and Ensemble Volcanic Ash raise some hell, live!

Janel Leppin - Ensemble Volcanic Ash live-GTDR

Listen to this show: Pop-up listen Pop-up player!

Today, two live sets, one from Janel & Anthony and one from Ensemble Volcanic Ash, kicking off my first show of WFMU's Hellraiser Fundraiser. Partners in life and music, Janel Leppin (pronounced "leh-PEEN") and Anthony Pirog recently released their 2nd collaboration, "New Moon in the Evil Age," showcasing their many compositional talents on cello, guitar, voice and multiple instruments. And Janel's Ensemble Volcanic Ash brings another side to her compositions, a sextet that she describes as, "rambunctious chamber jazz." Both ensembles perform live for Irene's show. If you love what you hear, please consider a Hellraiser donation by clicking here.
