we take the week of thanksgiving as "fall break", and it falls on week 15 this year. then one more week of class, and another week of finals. "winter break" begins mid-December.

when i first started here, only Thurs and Fri of Thanksgiving week were off. but students took weds off anyway, so we made weds a part of the break. then students started leaving on tues, so we again adjusted the calendar. now they get the whole week.
