too much to say to you, and i really need to prepare the same kind of reply for anyone interested).
the tl;dr for that part is i am messed up. and everything is a challenge, and weird, and i feel misunderstood and alone.
(just like most everybody(?)) -- and i'm sick of complaining, and retelling everything over and over and over.
had to convince a social worker yesterday that i am 1) poor and 2) disabled permanently -- initial goal was to see that kind of work i could do, which shouldn't have happened, as the MDs eval has been available to their agency for over a year, and states as much clearly.
blah blah blah. everything is ridiculous... i'm just glad i have food and a place to be inside and sleep (and not on the sidewalk, like so many ppl in sf, and everywhere
thank you for asking. #1 is always the same - stay calm. a million things swirling around in my mind, but, the tl;dr reply to 'sup is that - staying calm. (tons more. all unpleasant, all difficult, and unwelcome to most commenters and DJs
okay. that's enough out of me for now. apologies, all. Phillippe asked 8^)
one more thing is up: i'm going to comment less. (read: complain less/ be a bummer less).
how about you?

"Most conductors play the piece faster than Ravel indicated because they feel audiences won't hear—at the slower tempo—the 'music' in it. Which makes all the funnier Ravel's remark to Arthur Honegger: 'I've produced only one masterpiece: Boléro; alas, it contains no music.'"

The Monkees released version does a great job of incorporating both sides of that composition, and becomes almost like an "American Kinks" song with the upbeat satirical tone.

Pink Martini included "Boléro" on their debut album but had to leave it off the 20th anniversary edition of that album because of some dispute with the Ravel estate.
But that tune is now in the public domain so it's been restored to the 20th anniversary edition.

1610s, "member of a low caste in southern India, shunned as unclean," from Portuguese paria or directly from Tamil (Dravidian) paraiyar, plural of paraiyan "drummer" (at festivals, the hereditary duty of members of the largest of the lower castes of southern India), from parai "large festival drum." "Especially numerous at Madras, where its members supplied most of the domestics in European service" [OED]. Applied by Hindus and Europeans to any members of low Hindu castes and even to outcastes. Extended meaning "social outcast" is attested by 1819.
