The greatest thing I've ever seen
Was a newborn child looking up at me
The greatest sound I've ever heard
Was a baby's cry in this wicked world
The innocence of that cry
Leaves me cold and my heart cries
It's a heartbreaking world if you want it to be

Use the mix in a spray bottle.
The mix dries quickly & leaves no residue behind. Also does no damage to the vinyl.
I did this on over 1000 LP's when I converted them to digital files.Worked beautifully.

Then I made MP3 copies of everything so I can play them from USB sticks in my car (that's all my 2010 Hyundai can play).
They also act as a backup to my external HD backup where I have the Audacity files, as well as AIFF & MP3 copies of everything so If I lose the AIFF's I can convert the MP3's to AIFF's and back again.

Thanks.
My feeling is as long as you have a good cartridge, keep it clean, clean the Lp's & let the software do the converting you'll be OK.
I worked in a pro studio under one of the bst engineers in the biz (Chris Andersen, Todd Rundgren's right hand man) so I've heard plenty of great audio.
The thing is, how good is your hearing? Can you actually hear the full range of audio? Many can't.
Also what are you then playing the digital files back through? How's the reproduction range on that gear?
I'm not that picky anymore. Most of my listening is in the car which isn't a really high end repro system.
good luck & happy listening & recording.
