I wasn't initially very keen on Petty. Many of the hits were very repetitive, I thought. His other stuff is much better, however IMO

The Hound, who was participant in the New York Dolls’ 1975 Florida residency (as described in the book “Please Kill Me”), spoke about this years ago on his WFMU program:
The Dolls played shows with Tom Petty’s group Mudcrutch, who were on the cusp of changing their name. Thunders took note of this when he abruptly quit, thinking nobody’d notice his appropriation!

I meant it was the theme to the radio series--then the TV series.
I listened to and watched those (and read the novels), but I never saw the American movie (made years after the author's death). I tried but couldn't get through it. It just didn't work in that format.
