Talking Heads met in an art school too, I think. Both bands have killer visual production skills. True Stories (1986) directed by David Byrne is basically a series of music videos tied together by a loose plot involving the residents of fictional Virgil, Texas, a town built up around a semiconductor corporation.

One was DVX, an early digital playback system that was ashes before in got out of post production. One of the guys on our crew had been in Green on Red - a cow punk band from Tucson. This I saw - the guy from Green on Red said "Hi Jerry, we opened for you in Tucson!" Jerry barely acknowledged him. It was embarrassing to witness. Later, Green on Red guy opened for Bob Dylan - solo! See, there is justice in the world.

Negativland even doesn't get as snide, condescending, and sarcastic as Devo. Maybe on a few tracks they do. At least they don't come off as condescending like Devo did in the 1990s when they were making albums which only a spud would enjoy.

I went to the house of the production designer and we watched it on TV. No work that day, but nothing gets in the way of film production, so we were right back at it the day after. That job was weird enough - it was at Marilyne Monroe's love shack in the Hollywood Hills. The following week I we were in the penthouse of a skyscraper downtown L.A. Can I say that I was freaking?

Talking Heads met in an art school too, I think. Both bands have killer visual production skills. True Stories (1986) directed by David Byrne is basically a series of music videos tied together by a loose plot involving the residents of fictional Virgil, Texas, a town built up around a semiconductor corporation.

One was DVX, an early digital playback system that was ashes before in got out of post production. One of the guys on our crew had been in Green on Red - a cow punk band from Tucson. This I saw - the guy from Green on Red said "Hi Jerry, we opened for you in Tucson!" Jerry barely acknowledged him. It was embarrassing to witness. Later, Green on Red guy opened for Bob Dylan - solo! See, there is justice in the world.

Negativland even doesn't get as snide, condescending, and sarcastic as Devo. Maybe on a few tracks they do. At least they don't come off as condescending like Devo did in the 1990s when they were making albums which only a spud would enjoy.
