I was at a customer's house in Gardiner earlier, up on the ridge near Mohonk. When I ordered his part last week it looked like summer. I went back today and it looked like winter--all the trees bare, and undulating carpets of caterpillars on the side of his barn

It's especially good news that several of the adult cats are getting adopted. I presume it's easier to find homes for kittens than for the grown cats (though what do I know).

That's been my experience, as a former animal shelter volunteer & cat foster. Many people want a cute kitten or puppy, & older animals get overlooked (if they're only a couple of years old).
