Good morning Jeremiah! Don, tom tom, Destroit, Hubig Pie.

Thought of you last night J, as the wife and I watched eighties movie The Big Chill and your first name is a feature in first and last scene of the movie.

Opening scene is a young kid being bathed by his dad. He is trying to sing Jeremiah was a bullfrog (see link below). It has no bearing on the movie as this is the setting for his mom to watch them, while on the phone receiving the bad news of a friend passing (the whole premise of the movie). So you quickly forget about it especially since the boy doesn't feature anymore. But then at the end of the movie theres' a delicate call-back for those who pay attention as the song is played during the credits.

Great cast: Kevin Kline, Glenn Close,Tom Berenger, William Hurt, Jeff Goldblum, Meg Tilly.

Do you like leaving the station in daylight, or does it mean you're not getting to sleep when you get home?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59am
Jeremiah:

↳ fred @3:56
It doesn't make any difference to me. I used to work overnight so I can sleep in daylight. One thing that kinda bothers me for some reason though is when I get on the train and it's dark and then I get out and it's light. I don't know why it annoys me but it does.

We're hitting the part of the year where it doesn't really get dark, just twilight-ish for a few hours. I love it, but wouldn't manage sleeping without eye shades.

Vicki's records are slow-burn to me. I first take it as a new thing, I rarely ID the source, but later I'll hear a song and think "she used it on that track!"

I spent a couple weeks in Norway in June a few years ago and was completely thrown off by the non-setting of the sun. I just didn't go to bed sometimes because I had no idea what time it was.

It's indeed easy to lose track. I've only seen true midnight sun (as in not setting at all) once, years ago on a hiking trip hut to hut in northern Finland over midsummer weekend. On the actual solstice, the clouds cleared a little after midnight and a group of us walked up the hill to watch the sun approach the top of a ridge, then go back up. Haven't been that far north in the winter yet, but it must be weird when it just gets barely like dusk for half an hour around noon
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:24am

Yeah I don't know if I could live like that.

I haven't been where the sun doesn't rise at all yet, though I need to do that. Maybe next year during the solar maximum since that should be a good time for auroras. But if we have a late season for snow and the ground is bare in southern Finland in December, it can be pretty damn dark here too, especially on cloudy days.

Noon no-sun land should be a great place for a goth festival (there might be a need for outfit adjustments though)

i think the furthest north i have been is berlin and in december when it hits twilight in early afternoon, the light was quite beautiful and pink and went with the frigid air which i believe comes in on a jet stream from siberia, or at l;east i was told something like that
