Franco Twinkie:
Yesterday a friend told me a great Sandy Bull story. Years ago he interviewed Sandy for Options. The story never ran, but this is what happened: Sandy showed up on a Harley in full leather someplace in Venice. He had cleaned himself up and was drug free, but during his difficult period he had been completely forgotten. The Vanguard years were behind him and no one gave shit who he was. He had made one last record that was a dark comment on the war in Vietnam that went absolutely nowhere. Now he was tearing around L.A. on a motorcycle with nowhere to go.

I got a used copy of that Sandy Bull LP a year back. As I made to leave, the used records proprietor wistfully said that they'd never see that slab again.

To Be Alone
Hey White
You know where your loyalties are?
Right here.
The old pinstripes.
No.
You never wore them
So you have a right to sing the blues.
