Your host was very much into the world of punk while it was happening. I was training to be a tattooer at the time, and the name that I kept seeing tied to the tattoos in the UK music scene was Lal Hardy. A talented artist in his own right, he owns New Wave Tattoo in London for well over 4 decades, armed with a solid staff, Lal continues to tattoo into his 5th decade. He is passionate about tattooing past and present, has authored many tattoo books, and seemingly knows most everything about it. I love that his art intersects the music that means so much to so many, and was honored to be able to peek at a bit of history while chatting with him in his Muswell Hill studio.
