Frank La Rocca / The Benedict XVI Choir & Orchestra | Requiem For The Forgotten: IX. Procession to the Place Of Rest ("Pic Jesu") | Frank La Rocca: Requiem for the Forgotten & Messe Des Malades | Capella | 2024 | The booklet notes written by La Rocca open with this paragraph: Writing music for liturgy requires a composer to reconcile considerations that can appear to be in conflict. The music must, first, be reverent, and strive to bring glory to God. It must flow from a spirit of humility and simplicity. Unlike works purely for the concert stage, music for liturgy is not (or should not be) primarily a vehicle for the composer to project some "originality" of artistic vision. Such an approach can easily result in music for its own sake, rather than music that serves to deepen participation in the Liturgy through inner illumination of the texts. Finding that place where one's own voice as a composer can join the voices of the past - as a fresh contribution to the great history of liturgical music - requires constant vigilance and introspection, especially in an age where originality is revered as the highest of all artistic aspirations. I have found this tension to be a potent source of creative inspiration. | * | 0:25:29 (Pop-up)

Delia Derbyshire / Barry Bermange | Falling | Invention For Radio No. 1: The Dreams | Psychic Sounds | 2016 | orig broadcast on BBC Radio in 1964 / Dreams" was made in collaboration with Barry Bermange (who originally recorded the narrations). Bermange put together The Dreams (1964), a collage of people describing their dreams, set to a background of electronic sound. Dreams is a collection of spliced/reassembled interviews with people describing their dreams, particularly recurring elements. The program of sounds and voices attempts to represent, in five movements, some sensations of dreaming: running away, falling, landscape, underwater, and colour. | 2:31:24 (Pop-up)

(i think I may have been a "supporter" many years ago, maybe when that started? & life was "normal" -- but it may have been another aspect with which i lost touch when things got "abnormal")
waaaay back in the 1980s, maybe even early 90s too? i was attempting to construct homemade instruments -- so seeing Neubauten's creations would have been such a treat!
(i had a lot of night jobs, so i would be scrounging around the streets and junkyard here in Hoboken, once i got home from Manhattan -- streets were totally desolate at like 3am, and sometimes there were guard dogs at the junkyard -- but still, sometimes i found some really amazing bizarre stuff!)
(and yes, once upon a time, there was a junkyard in Hoboken! all fancy condos in that area now)

nice!
there were pushes to build like crazy all along the waterfront of the Hudson -- huge high-rises, etc. -- thankfully that did not happen -- so that is all park area now, YAY!
but, i honestly do not know if Hoboken's infrastructure could have supported all that development anyway?
