The East Village in Music & Words: A Conversation with Dany Johnson, Ande Whyland, & Jesse Rifkin
Thursday, March 21, 2024, 6 - 7:30 PM
The Tompkins Square Library ( 331 East 10th Street , NYC) continues its year-long celebration of East Village/Lower East Side music, writing, and performance with this exciting event featuring music historian Jesse Rifkin in conversation with East Village music legends, Dany Johnson and Ande Whyland. The focus of the discussion will be the iconic East Village music venues, Club 57 and the Pyramid Club. Dany and Ande performed at these clubs as memers of the all-female band, Pulsallama. Additionally, Dany appeared as a DJ at both clubs, while Ande documented the scene as a photographer
