"I was rescued last night by seeing CCCP, groovy wierd teatro absurdita italo agit prop post punk dunderhead darlings of the 80's Berlin scene - they're doing 3 reformation concerts this weekend - last night in Berlin, in a concert hall the last time I was in was a year or two after the fall of the wall. Back then it was the meeting hall of the local train depot, abandoned apparently in an instant, phones still connected, a film of locomotive coal dust and the dust of ages covering everything, chairs lined up before a stage, probably would have sat a thousand or so, blood red velour curtains, a microphone and lectern standing on stage. About 6,000 italians showing up from everywhere not least the woodwork for the shows that sold out in seconds. They put up an affirmation of all we've lost, namely, or, in a word, community. A splendid racket was heard by all."

www.roadie.com...
there's other like services that match people already traveling to a destination willing to take on others goods. All for a fee of course, but probably cheaper than shipping. Those costs are ridiculous
