A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

Simone disagreed with Taylor's production choices—particularly his interest in a reggae sound, which first caused Simone to ask "What is this corny stuff?" Simone's dissatisfaction delayed production, but she would eventually record her vocals for the album in a single hour-long sitting.Simone would later recall of the historic barn where Baltimore was recorded "a basement in Belgium where I was forced to sing songs in order to get out of there."

As for things like Amazon, it's so damned tricky because while you can not buy from them, it's nearly impossible to avoid using them indirectly. So many merchants use their web services.

- tip the underpaid delivery people (or overtip, if you're in the US), in cash
- talk to people: tell them amazon sucks, again and again. don't let them and yourself shrug it off

If anyone is interested in trying to follow the judicial developments against HumptyTrumpty made by a truly refulgent genius (always read the comments most of the commenters are lawyers and even a few judges and they're not always smooth but are always well moderated to weed out the chaff!), visit emptywheel.net.
The main contributor is an amazing lady with unbelievable depth of knowledge about process and reads all the court stuff in the various cases proceeding as well as the other 'dick-sniffing' garbage relating to HB. Marcy Wheeler is my personal hero. This is NOT an advert it's a public service
Trouble you are another hero!! Hopefully my daughter finally checked you out!
Also, there's a great documentary about some of the history of the labor movement made some years ago called The Wobblies over on archive.org and a great podcast called Working Class History (patreon) with like 95 episodes, brilliant
