Honestly I had no idea. How cool!

Anna Webber is a great talent. I’ve heard her as a side musician, but she is also a leader and fantastic composer, from small group to orchestral compositions.

Anna was a guest on Dave Sewelson's show, along with Angela Morris, almost four years ago. As Listener Gregory says, a monumental player/composer.

Berne’s tone on this is nasal enough to be a soprano (it isn’t), and the two-guitar instrumentation is fantastic. IMHO
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:04pm
Doug Schulkind:

Wow! Right at the end there it sounded like Berne was mimicking the sound of that legendary track "Akazéhé Par Deux Jeunes Filles" from Ocora's Traditional Music of Burundi recording.

Hey David... out of curiosity, did you happen to work for (or in an office adjacent to) the Creative Writing MFA program at the University of Arizona about 25 years ago?

Ah... oh well! Sorry for the confusion... long time ago. Someone there with a similar name/musical tastes--he actually got me a show for a short time at a weird pirate radio station in the basement of someone's private home near the University. Don't remember what the station was called.

I liked living down there quite a bit. Music places I remember were 'Hotel Congress' (live music) and PDQ (I think) records. Maybe both gone now. (This Moor Mother song's quite nice, by the way).

Was just reading about PDQ, sorta confusing/sad. They closed down permanently a few years after I left, were gone for almost a decade, then the original owners re-opened at a different location only to be shut down by City of Tucson eminent domain laws a few years later.
