Indeed. There's no better hatch wax than Waxahatchee hatch wax. I use it to wax all my hatches. Folks look at my hatches and say "da-am, that's a shiny hatch".
thanks to google all we have nowadays are chrome records. no more silver gold and platinum now everything is chrome.

You know what cracks me up every time? "Monty Hall." Still tickles me, even though the crew at WFMU mention it as if it were just another name for a building.
ZOMG!!! "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" is the actual spelling!!! There's only one Michele-with-one-L! Was she in that movie 25 years ago?!?!...
"Josie and the Pussycats" creator Dan DeCarlo died the December after that movie came out.
He sued the publishers that year for compensation and was fired after decades of being the definitive Archie artist.

Good Evening Irwin:
I would like to wish the beautiful, talented, Francoise Hardy ( the object of Bob Dylan , David Bowie, and many other men and women’s affections) a happy 80th Birthday and maybe just maybe you could find it in your heart to make room for a small tribute to her on your show, with regards to you and all those “all over the world “
I made sure to buy a magazine after her death that featured her on the cover, "Betty White at 100". She died just short of that - they shouldn't have jinxed her...
Frampton seems always a lovely guy - great if not most distinctive Gittarist - great to see Live in recent decades. Has now a serious progressive I think terminal disease & is metering out his activities...
I received a free ticket to see Frampton at an outdoor summer show some years back and it actually was extremely good. It lasted from 7:15 to after 11pm with one small break.
Great fun to listen to - his guitaring (and mouth guitaring) always seemed more about 'effects', but his technicality is probably at least good as well.
That's the problem with Ranking Things - not very Zen, you could miss the Perfectly Good in front of you while searching for a theoretical Perfectly Perfect.
See cause ...playing, singing, recording, performing ...& writing material ...these are all actually separate Talents a lot of the time.
Not everybody is aware of this shiz.
Cause 'nice '70s rock sound' ...kinda means smoov - & featureless. Tbh. Tho as Irwin articulated - Frampton sticks to basics without artificiality mostly.
I agree that Frampton was (and is) consistently good, making high-quality music. Just not cutting-edge. I do rather admire musicians who try late-career moves into something different. Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond come to mind.

Perry does have some decent records. I can’t believe someone remade his 1956 hit “hot digety”
The Frampton story of course is partly about being blindsided by Platinum Megasuccess - & the subsequent fallout. Think bad management deals were involved...

Song:
"Who Does She Hope to Be?" by "Dave Easley"
Yeah lovely. Who thinks of Sharrock as Balladeer ?
...I almost think ...the Jazzes have sort of been liberated from certain anxieties of categorization ...& are actually in a Good Place...
I was thinking this morning when Ken played K&H's version of "Institutionalized" that it's been a while since we've heard your own rendition, Irwin, from an ancient marathon premium. Can you do us a favor and trot that baby out sometime?
when I was in high school I heard way too much of Frampton Comes Alive. But I recently was turned on to a live recording of his made in the last ten years? that sounded great. I dig Humble Pie. (frampton has my birthday so that is cool.)
I didn't get to see Frampton back in the day but I did spend a lot of hours blasting Frampton Comes Alive in my Koss headphones while laying back in my denim beanbag chair, reading Creem magazine.
Or perhaps Shambala Mountain Center in the mountains outside of Fort Collins, Colorado, where I worked in the kitchen during the late summer/fall of '06. The Dalai Lama flew in by helicopter to bless The Great Stupa of Dharmakaya!
He became a friend of avant-garde composer and rock guitarist Frank Zappa, and performed some of his own compositions at a Zappa concert in Santa Monica, California, in 1981. He named his cat Grody-to-the-Max after learning the phrase from Zappa's daughter Moon Zappa.

I remember there was a recitation of Monk's greatest fears in an episide of the original show. It was so good that Kathryn and I transcribed it at the time. (Can't find the transcription, though, of course).
