That was underscored in Kate's BBC doco. Like many, Elton John was affected by "Don't Give Up" at a time he was in a personal nadir; they met each other after that. So at Elton's first wedding/ceremony to David, there were 600 guests, most of them quite famous. And yet, everyone wanted to talk with one person, Kate! As well-liked as she is but seldom seen :)

Listened to at least a rap album a day for a year and a half. It was an incredible experience and there's great stuff in every era, but I'm with you about the Golden Age pretty much being from Run-DMC to OutKast for me. However, if I could recommend one recent rap album, I'd go with Danny Brown's "Atrocity Exhibition." Yes, named after the Joy Division track. It's got some "Dark Night" vibes.
