My hubs was reminiscing about red pistachios over Christmas , never heard of it so I looked it up.
USA got their pistachios from Syria region/exporters ( who some say dyed them to hide imperfections) but all that stopped in the mid 80’s due to Iranian embargo on pistachios. So 🇺🇸 started growing their own so better quality control & less ship issues…no more dye!
