During his high school years he was a member of the state FFA chorus for four years and a member of the 100 voice national chorus for two years. He was sponsored by F H Peavy and Company. While in the Air Force he was a first tenor in a base chorus that performed in San Francisco for the premiere showing of "The Joseph McConnell Story" starring June Allyson and Alan Ladd. He was a member and one of the featured soloists with the Jamestown Choralaires. He made frequent appearances as a soloist througout North Dakota.
