It's a must see, one of the most memorable films I've seen from that era. It was also cool to see Herschel Bernardi playing a gangster while he was probably best known at that time for playing a cop on Peter Gunn (he's great in both roles). And the soundtrack is perfect for the film, it's all guitar

Yes. I thought it fell apart at the end and was a waste of Richard E. Grant. It also reminded me of a few other films, like "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and a lesser known film called "Something For Evereyone" from 1970. Good central performance, though.

Yes, that's right, his contractor keeps him waiting in a hotel for weeks to test him, and he can't leave until the phone rings. So he works out in the small hotel room, and that was where Scorcese got the idea for the same setup in Taxi Driver where Travis works out in his small apartment.

I also watched a YouTube video where a guy goes to the original location of Jim Rockford's trailer home at Paradise Cove, and it's also the beach where the Surfin Safari album cover photo was taken. It's pretty cool, the host's name is Jordan or something...then I did a deep dive on Rockford Files. All that's left is to dig into the DVD box set I still haven't opened.
