The producer, Bob Porter, hit the stage before the musicians to admonish the audience to keep quiet. I thought that was absolute chickenshit.

I remember once going to see Dexter Gordon at the famed Village Vanguard in NYC, and the date was being recorded for release. The producer, Bob Porter, hit the stage before the musicians to admonish the audience to keep quiet. I thought that was absolute chickenshit.
