I knew the Who & yARdbiRdS songs already - but things were a bit different for me cause I was a little kid hearing my older brother playing a quantity of things. I don't how anyone could not love the selections & the arrangements & performances. & it could've been easy to screw up doing those tunes...

I'll indulge myself in one too many White Castle Impossible Sliders in his memory. Here's to Scott Kempner (Bronx Science '71) and all he stood for!

Anyhow- nobody played them much for me beyond say 'Next Big Thing'...

	4:45pm DFFDicd: Glad to know some you getting a good edumucashun re the mighty Dics. I suppose there's a NY thing, and/or a niche thing, that even today keeps them out of conversations that include Velvets/Dolls/Patti/TV/Ramones/and sometimes Dick Hell, but unfortunately marketing, overt humor (very "NY"), and a weird sounding first record and even weirder in a way second record doomed them. The third record and, ironically, subsequent releases in the 90s and 2000s like DFFD and the live records are where a certain balance of all the elements (including drumming) came together that arguably would've spread the disease with more grease and ease.

I suppose there's a NY thing, and/or a niche thing, that even today keeps them out of conversations that include Velvets/Dolls/Patti/TV/Ramones/and sometimes Dick Hell, but unfortunately marketing, overt humor (very "NY"), and a weird sounding first record and even weirder in a way second record doomed them. The third record and, ironically, subsequent releases in the 90s and 2000s like DFFD and the live records are where a certain balance of all the elements (including drumming) came together that arguably would've spread the disease with more grease and ease.
