A former boss plays harpsichord and now a recently acquired fortepiano. Long ago, when he lived in the Hollywood Hills, he invited me to an intimate performance by Ton Koopman on harpsichord. I was already a big Koopman/Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra fan.

My vinyl Pet Sounds reissue has a very high-pitched tone in a couple of spots during "I Know There's an Answer" I bought that record when I was 25, and it was really obvious. Couldn't be missed. It's been some years since I've been able to hear it.

Actually, the issue is the tapes stretch so they play faster or BREAK! Lots of drop out now, but transferred as many as I could about 15 years ago.

Had a close friend with a Reel to Reel Deck and dug up a lot of tapes. They sounded nice, but had more hiss than I'm used to (and I didn't need another rabbit hole to fall into).

Growing up around the time of the Doors revival around the time the Oliver Stone movie came out, a lot of their more popular stuff doesn't do it for me but I have like a playlist of less-played tracks and deep cuts that I think really hold up. I'll listen to things like "Peace Frog," "Love Street," "Changeling" and like pretty much anything off of "Strange Days."

My GF's & I went to see The Doors at Convention Hall, Asbury Park, '68. Earth Opera opened. Cops were everywhere ... I had my white nehru jacket & bell bottoms on - walked into a poster shop with black lights & lit up like we've never seen... ha ! But the show was amazing - despite the press reviews....we were mesmerized & smitten by it all...
