I spent a decent amount of time in JP in the midnineties. I went back for a bachelor party like 8 or 10 years back. We went to a Scottish(!) restaurant, and I was standing outside smoking after dinner, totally confused by the boutiques and restaurants all around. I finally asked a passer-by where the Bean (Brendan Behan's) was so I could get my bearings. She just pointed. It was like 100' away, but it was totally drowned out in my sensorium by all the things that didn't make sense.
